But now you gotta look at Ponder this way, sure he threw 5 picks but he also made it rain for almost 300 yards and 3 TDs IN SEATTLE.

See if you can work with him to give him time in the pocket and experience cause if all else fails you still got Yates on the bench..
That is very true. Part of the problem too was that I got behind early and stopped running the ball as much. My offense game plan is really meant to be balanced and work the play action as much as possible, so when I got behind plus with the less talent at QB and WR after the injuries plus versus the LoB, it was a recipe for disaster.

Good luck in your quest for that repeat, silently followed the first one, hopefully you'll hear from me more often on this thread.
Lol, when I drafted him, I'd hope he would end up like his namesake...

Thanks for checking in and for the follow though.

Re: Supercharged | Pt. II (2018-): The Return of the L.A. Chargers

Chapter One (2018): Week 4

Eddie Lacy breaks into the endzone for his second touchdown of the night to seal the Chargers' victory.

Bouncing back
Chargers end skid with tough old-time victory over Raiders

AP - If you're the L.A. Chargers and you've lost two straight games, are missing your starting quarterback and two starting receivers and you're coming off a game in which your backup quarterback threw five interceptions, what do you do? You get back to what you do best: run the ball, play defense and control the tempo. That formula was executed perfectly as the Chargers handed the Oakland Raiders their first loss of the season in convincing fashion, winning 33-7.

The Bolts' game-plan was clear from the opening snaps: they began the game with six straight runs. Eddie Lacy carried the ball a season-high 27 times for his first 100-yard game of the year. Overall, the Chargers ran the ball an astonishing 43 times.

On defense, the Chargers executed equally well. While they gave up some early big runs and a touchdown on Oakland's first drive, the Chargers' defense settled down and snuffed out anything the Raiders tried to muster. Most impressively, they completely blanketed the Raiders' dynamic receiving trio of Brandon Marshall, Percy Harvin and Julian Edelman. The Chargers held the Raiders passing game to only 39 yards all game. In total, the Raiders had only eight first downs and 133 yards with half of those first downs and more than half of the yardage coming on their opening drive.

After Oakland's early touchdown put them up 7-3, the Chargers responded with a long grinding drive that forever put the game in their control. Glenn Ponder, who fared much better in his second start since Philip Rivers' injury, engineered a 14-play drive that culminated in Lacy's first touchdown of the game.

The Chargers never looked back.

In the third quarter, up 13-3, they forced a Raiders' fumble on the third play of the half and took ownership of the ball. Of five possessions, they scored on four, and ate up nearly 22 minutes of clock in the half.

Though they are still dealing with significant injuries and only just clawed back to .500, the win is encouraging for the Chargers, as they have now pulled back within one game of the division-leading Raiders. The two teams will meet again in Oakland in two weeks.

NFL Top Ten: Week 4
RK (LW)TeamRecordComments
1 (1) Tennessee Titans4-0In their past three games, all within the division, the Titans have outscored their opponents 125-36.
2 (2) San Francisco 49ers3-1In three wins, the 49ers defense has given up one touchdown. In their one loss: five.
3 (3) Green Bay Packers4-0Aaron Rodgers with a defense that has given up a league-low 11.0 PPG is a scary combination.
4 (4) New Orleans Saints3-0The Saints come out of their bye with two divisional games in the next three weeks, looking to put their stamp back on the NFC South.
5 (5) Baltimore Ravens3-0This week's matchup versus the Bucs is a possible Superbowl preview.
6 (6) Tampa Bay Buccaneers2-1See above.
7 (9) Chicago Bears4-0The Bears continue to surprise the league, this week by winning at Seattle.
8 (8) Minnesota Vikings2-1They might have a tough time keeping up in the NFC North, but as long as AP keeps running like a 27-year old, they'll have a shot.
9 (-) Los Angeles Chargers2-2A big bounce back for the defending champs, who despite all the injuries proved they still have what it takes to be dominant.
10 (- ) Indianapolis Colts3-1Without their star quarterback, the Colts still find a way to win, shutting down the Cowboys' red-hot offense.

Game Notes
The first meeting of the year between two AFC West rivals that have not met expectations through the first quarter of the season. With Philip Rivers out, the Chargers and Chiefs become remarkably similar: both with strong run games and a good pass rush that makes it tough to come back on. Limiting turnovers and getting an early lead will be the key for both Matt Barkley and the Chiefs as well as Glenn Ponder and the Bolts.
