Brady and Manning Call it Quits
Multiple rings and records; League to be worse off for Superstar loss

NFL - Everyone has their day and today the announcement of retirements has left the league feeling a little different, as we say goodbye to 2 of the greatest Quarterbacks to grace the game.

Peyton Manning signs out of the game having failed to make good on bringing a Championship to Denver as his final hoorah ended with a heavy Wildcard loss to the Titans. Manning who broke Brett Favre's passing yard record, ends his efforts with just 1 ring to show for over 70000yds and a heap of Touchdowns.

A little more successful than Manning, his great rival Tom Brady finally calls it a day as his last season (blighted by injury) saw the Patriots fall short of a repeat by losing to the Seahawks in Superbowl 50. Brady who passed his way beyond Dan Marino for passing TDs, ends with 4 Rings and is a lock to join the NFL Hall of Fame.

Other notable retirements see Frank Gore leave after a bumper year at the Colts, whilst Julius Peppers will not be harassing QBs anymore giving up after a final year at Green Bay.

Notable Retirements:
Code:
Player Team
Tom Brady NE
Frank Gore IND
Julius Peppers GB
Roddy White ATL
Andre Johnson IND
Anquan Boldin SF
James Harrison PIT
Michael Vick PIT
Adam Vinatieri IND
Peyton Manning DEN
Wes Welker BAL
Carson Palmer ARI
Charles Woodson unattached

Jets Taking a New Look
Ivory rejects; Fitzpatrick released

NJ - Its a tale of opposite sides of the field for the Jets as they get it done on defense, but are changing a whole lot of their offense. The big news and the big money goes to LE Muhammad Wikerson as the Jets get him to commit to a 6 year deal that earns him the best part of $100m.

In addition Damon Harrison commits for 4 more at $18m, whilst Demario Davis is tied down for 4 @ $15.4m. The additional move to sign Quinton Coples for $6m signified a consistency that the Jets hope to keep on their defense which ranked #1 against the run in 2015.

On the flipside big decisions were made with regards to the teams offense. Firstly the search for a new QB will begin in ernest, as veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick is let go after a season of mis-firing. However the big news is the decision of HB Chris Ivory to reject a new contract and test his arm in free agency.

The Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan said "We knew how important Chris (Ivory) was to this team last year, we offered him favorable terms based on where we project him to be. Unfortunately he saw a better market for himself elsewhere and we needed to focus our money on other needs"

Ivory who bust out this year with a career high 1400+ yard season leaves the Jets with another big hole on offense to fill, after the release of Fitzpatrick. The choice is now whether they chase their target in the draft, or make moves in free agency.

Finally the Jets did announce that TE Kellen Davis picks up another year for just over $4m as he will compete with the improving Cumberland to fill the role in 2016.

New York Jets Re-Signings:
Code:
Player Yr	$
Muhammad Wilkerson	6	96M
Damon Harrison 4	18M
Demario Davis 4	15.4M
Quinton Coples 2	6.56M
Kellen Davis 1	$4.65M
Ryan Quigley 1	$2.67M

Re: Fumbling Fools :: New York Jets (Madden 16)

One of Two!
Bradford given the reigns to Jets offense

NJ - Embroiled in two high profile bidding wars, the Jets nailed down one of the two men they looked too, in order to revamp their offense. Their biggest priority appeared to be their chase for a new running back, this saw them turn to former Bronco' C.J. Anderson who left Denver after a stellar year.

Anderson quickly became one of the most sought after free agents and he soon had an offer he couldnt refuse, unfortunately for the Jets it came from Tennessee, as he would pocket a $33.6M deal, outbidding the Jets.

However the bad news soon turned bright as the Jets chasing arguably the best QB free agent on the market, finalised a deal with Sam Bradford for 4 years, as he is given the key to power the Jets offense.

Mike Maccagnon presenting Bradford said "We put together a solid package for Sam (Bradford) but I think overall we were both impressed with each other in how we saw the future for this team"

On the failure to tie down C.J. Anderson, Maccagnon quipped "In the end money talks and we had our own priorites to resolve. It would have been a big boost to everyone signing Anderson, but there are other avenues we can go down in order to fill that position"

The bottom line for the Jets is that Sam Bradford is arguably the biggest upgrade they could get at Quarterback and if he can go back to his 2012 efforts for the Rams and build on that, we could well see a big improvement in the Jets offensive output.

Sam Bradford 2015 Line:
176/279 - 2294yds - 14TD/13INT - 86.2QBR
