Coach Matt Rhule retires from coaching due to recent cancer diagnosis

Hey! It's your main man Greg Dispacchio here. I'm reporting with some spirit-crushing news for my fellow Temple football fans. Coach Rhule has retired due to lymphoma, the same disease Kansas City Chiefs' safety Eric Berry suffered. However, Matt seems to be in good spirits and is taking the news well.

"I may not be as strong as Eric Berry physically, but I sure as hell know that I am mentally. If he can come back from this disease as quickly and as strongly as he did, I can too."

Temple's team leaders P.J. Walker, Jamie Gilmore, Nate D. Smith, Tyler Matakevich and Tavon Young have started a trend by writing #ForMatt on all their gear, whether it be their cleats, eye black, gloves, or socks. Even in-state rivals Pittsburgh and Penn State's players have began to do the same. However, the Temple football program has been left in good hands. New head coach Hick Harris has taken over. The former Gus Malzahn disciple brings his own style of the Wing T shotgun system.

"Gus just sprinkles his Wing T in here and there, running a buck sweep every once and a while. Everything I do in my offense is designed around misdirection and blocking", Coach Harris said when asked about his offensive attack.

The offense has gotten a positive reception from players. P.J. Walker went as far as saying the system fit him perfectly. If Coach Harris can win 12 straight D-III championships at Valdosta State, we have no reason to worry.
