UConn Huskies Travels to California to Take On Northern Cal Lions

The UConn Huskies will travel all the way to Sacramento, CA to take on the Northern Cal Lions. The 3-1 Lions come into this game coming off two straight wins over Utah St and Washington St. So far this season, Northern Cal has had one of the best offenses in the country, if not, the best. They have not faced very good competition, other than Stanford, but their offense has performed very well for who they have faced. The Lions offense ranks #2 in points per game (42.8), #1 in yards per game (517.5), #6 in rushing yards per game (264.8), and #15 in passing yards per game (252.8). The balanced attack for the Lions has fueled their offense to much success, but their defense, on the other hand, has been terrible. The Lions defense ranks #125 in yards allowed per game (498.8), #105 in rush yards allowed per game (183), and #126 in pass yards allowed per game (315.8). The Lions have a young defense that has been learning the ways, but they need a quick turnaround by their defense with a tougher road in their schedule that is coming up.

The undefeated UConn Huskies come into this game after a huge 33-28 win over Michigan. UConn played their best football of the season in this game, and are proving everyone wrong from what they thought they would be before the season. The offense, led by QB Chandler Whitmer, has been key for the Huskies. They rank #39 in points per game (30.7), #34 in total yards per game (410), #65 in rush yards per game (167.7), and #25 in passing yards per game (242.3). The Huskies offense has been electric this season, and expect them to do their thing against a weak Northern Cal defense. UConn's defense has been average this season, but better than expected. The defense ranks #65 in yards allowed per game (331.7), rushing yards allowed per game (196.7), and #11 in pass yards allowed per game (135). The struggling rush defense should struggle against Northern Cal's high-powered offense, but the strong secondary should bode well for the Huskies.
