This Ain't Basketball | Indiana Hoosiers Football (NCAA 14)
INTRODUCTION
Disclaimer: This article should be perceived as being wrote and read before the start of the 2013 season.
Indiana is undeniably one of the greatest states in the country as far as basketball goes. All levels of basketball are practically worshiped. Indiana is a basketball state. So what about the other sports? Just like any other state, when Friday comes, the small-town streets get empty and the roar of the high school football stadium can be heard for miles. The Indianapolis Colts pack their state-of-the-art every week during the NFL season and Notre Dame continues to be one of the top-tier teams in the country, despite having no conference to call home. That ain't basketball. Football lives in the sport shadows in Indiana, and it definitely shows in Indiana's holy-ground of Bloomington. The Hoosiers lead the FBS in all-time losses and have had little-to-no success since their last bowl win in 1991.
Outside of maybe trying NBA, this will probably be the last attempt I make at having a really in-depth dynasty. I will do my best to make this as entertaining and interesting to read as it is for me to play. My posting may be somewhat sporadic, as I work full-time and do that whole college thing. However, my goal is to get as many posts up on the weekend as I can. I went out and bought the XBOX for this. Some things that should be noted outside of house rules should probably be that this is starting in 2013. I won't be making a new coach or firing Kevin Wilson, I will simply be using him and starting him at level one (slow progression as well). I do not currently have a capture card, but it could be possibility in the future. I've also decided to avoid the CFP, while it may stunt the realism, I don't like the idea of it in real life and would rather stick to the BCS Bowl format. I will also follow the Finally, I would like to mention that I have been out of the dynasty game for a little bit, so I will be using what I will call a "Beast10 crutch" to lean on as far as following a model with this, however, I will develop my own model overtime. Enjoy
House Rules / Explanations:
1. I can't recruit players with a higher "star" ranking than my prestige, unless I am in their preseason top 8. Limited to three, for now.
2. I must focus on recruiting in my pipeline states as well as my region (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky) until I become a more power-house program.

BLOOMINGTON — Kevin Wilson has one of the youngest teams in the Big Ten. His team currently fields ten seniors on both sides of the ball, some of which may not get the starting nod come the 29th of August.
"We're big on putting experience out first," says Wilson, "However, that doesn't mean I'm going to sacrifice putting the best players we have on the field. Seniors will get the minutes they deserve."
One example of this is at the running-back position, Wilson says, "Tevin (Coleman) will be starting, but Stephen Houston will be sharing the field with him. Neither Tevin or Stephen are at the level to be playing every offensive play. Tevin goes out and makes big plays by getting into the open field with his speed, Stephen uses his strength and power to keep the ball moving in short yardage situations. Everyone's comfortable with their role, which is great for such a young team."
Wilson also revealed his fall roster and his possible depth chart which features a "either" next to sophomore Quarterbacks Nate Sudfeld and Tre Roberson. "We're not certain about who we're going to go with come opening day," says Wilson, "Sudfeld and Roberson are both great quarterbacks who have been putting in the work and competing for that starting spot since spring. It's a whole different offense when one or the other are one the field. Sudfeld rarely leaves the pocket and is very accurate. Roberson is much faster than (Sudfeld) and can throw a little harder than (Sudfeld) but his accuracy isn't up to par. They compete everyday at practice and it's great for them and the team."
Senior free safety and defensive captain Greg Heban accompanied Wilson on the podium and discussed what it's like to lead such a young team. "It's great," says Heban, "The seniors on the team are very vocal in practices. We try our best to impact the younger guys and instill good practice and studying habits into them."
Wilson closed his time on the podium with a short discussion about his goals for the team. "Of course, everyone wants to win the Big Ten. We all understand that that is unlikely. I've told the kids, you are setting a foundation for greatness here in Bloomington."
