Good to see the Bears on here. Was tempted to play with them myself after watching the 30 for 30 Bears and the Americas Game 1985 Bears in recent days. So am very interested to see how you get on... the loss of Cutler stings, but theres life in this team I hope.

Re: Rebuilding the Monster - Chicago Bears - (M17)

Bears conclude negotiations with Alshon Jeffery, Jay Cutler cleared for action

Historically, Bears fans have heaped criticism upon their signal caller for questions regarding his toughness traced back to a playoff game years ago where many questioned why he had taken the back seat. Though just a week removed from tearing his shoulder muscle, he has been returned to play after running non-contact drills last week but officially listed as out for the matchup against the Eagles. The Bears sent him out in light 7 on 7 contact drills and he held up, and his status was upgraded from questionable to being removed from the injury report with the NFL rules eliminating probable as a designation.

This comes the same week that Alshon Jeffery signed a five year deal worth 63.5 million dollars that secures the wide out with the Bears for the majority of his career. "This is someone we could definitely build our offense around. Alshon was originally going to play out this year but we managed to meet in the middle and moved past the franchise tag to keep him as a Bear." Spoke Ted Phillips to reporters following the break of the news. Alshon tweeted out "Bears for life #beardown" shortly before the news broke.

Brian Hartline was also cleared but the team still has him offically listed as out for the matchup against the Cowboys. Further thinning out the receiving corp was Eddie Royal who suffered a shoulder tear and will likely miss a month of action. Royal's injury knocks two receivers from the top of the depth chart, meaning young receivers such as Marquess Wilson and Daniel Bravermann will have to step up in their absence.

"We feel pretty good about the guys that we have right now. We don't have any reason to go out and see what's available, there's some young guys fighting for snaps, they can prove if they deserve more.." Spoke John Fox whom deflected speculation that the team could hunt the free agent ranks for a potential wide out to shore up the unit, though another unit would almost make that a necessity.

Injury news from across the league has the Bengals linebacker corps losing Vincent Rey (MLB) and Karlos Dansby (OLB) for extended action. Rey will be gone for the season with a broken ankle, while Karlos Dansby had his ankle dislocated and will miss about two months for it. The Bills injury report grows even longer, Sammy Watkins joins the list with an abdominal tear, while Kyle Williams (RE), Sterling Moore (CB) and Aaron Williams (SS) will all miss extended action from the defensive end of things.

The defending champions, Denver lost Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders to injuries, both will miss a month. Thomas is nursing a pulled groin while Sanders has a dislocated elbow. Left tackle Russell Okung has a hamstring tear that will make him mixx nearly two months, while tight end Virgil Green has a foot fracture that will make him miss a month. Halfback CJ Anderson dislocated his ankle as well and will miss three weeks.

Vincent Jackson of Tampa Bay broke his wrist and could miss up to two months in recovery time from the injury. The Chargers got hit too as Jason Verrett and Antonio Gates both will miss two months, Verrett dislocated his ankle while Gates has a dislocated hip. Julio Jones will miss about tow months with a knee cartilage tear which will further hurt the Falcons aspirations this season.

Our goal would simply to hit a .500 season, a playoff bid would be incredible but there's just too many holes.

The entire offensive line save Kyle Long needs to improve and our secondary is horrible. Also need to see if Kevin White can become a strong #2 option behind Alshon or if he is at best a slot, #3 type option.

Good luck for the season, nice win against Philly! Get a win vs Dallas and the season could start rolling nicely!

Daniel Braverman tackles the Cowboys after a Jay Cutler interception in the endzone

Bears show ineptitude in blowout loss to Dallas

(Dallas, TX) The Chicago Bears made the trip out to the Jerrydome to take on the Dallas Cowboys whom have emerged as a strong contender in the NFC and they did just what one would expect a contender to do, they beat up on a helpless Chicago team that simply couldn't prevent errors. The Bears were forced into six turnovers, four Jay Cutler interceptions, his fifth turnover a fumble that would be scooped up by Randy Gregory for the score.

Jay Cutler playing hurt after just a one week absence with a shoulder tear in his non-throwing arm wasn't great. He finished with a good amount of yards but threw a lot of interceptions and at times looked incredibly antsy in the pocket. His struggles were further personified by the several hits he took, each Cowboy celebrating over him another reminder of how much further his squad was falling behind.

The Cowboys continued to churn out points against the Bears, finding ways to put up points on the board at an impressive clip, and they didn't yield as they smashed the Bears with a big credit given to Ezekiel Elliot, the rookie from Ohio State absolutely thrashed the Bears after a slow start, Elliot had just 38 yards in the first half and didn't appear to be doing much to get his own game going, but the team made adjustments in the locker room and the rookie came out gunning in the second half, helping burn clock while also adding points to the board, an impressive testament for the squad.

The Bears did have one shining performance and that came from young wideout Marquess Wilson, Wilson was drafted out of Washington State as a high risk high upside player and today showed flashes of just what that upside was. He is far from being a consistently elite target, but when he is on, well it showed against the Cowboys as he dominated against his opposition and accounted for two-thirds of the Bears scoring on a Sunday where scoring wasn't easy to come by, he made it look simple.

The Bears day ended when a drive that went to the redzone looking to make it a one score game was intercepted on an attempted curl route to Daniel Braverman, the ball would be intercepted and the Cowboys would drive the length of the field for a touchdown, extending their lead to 21 and icing the game. The Bears defeat stings, sending them down to 1-2 as they look forward to their matchup against NFC North rivals in the Detroit Lions. This will be the Bears first matchup against the Lions since the retirement of Calvin Johnson.
