Tom Brady Bids Farewell
Tom Brady after a poor Super Bowl performance announced his retirement from The National Football League in his post SB press conference. This comes as a huge surprise after reports last season he had no intent to retire any time soon. He said "My days of football is over, it's my time to move on". Brady threw for over 5,000 yards in 2016 and won the MVP before leading his team to the Super Bowl where they fell to the Atlanta Falcons this earlier Sunday night.
Brady thanked the fans of New England for their support through the years and praised the fan base. "I've had the honor of playing in front of the best fans in football for many years. They came out for every game and supported me my whole career and for that I would like to thank everyone of you for believing in me and inspiring me to be the best I can be." Brady then continued to thank his coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft. He then said goodbye to football and walked off the interview stage after refusing to answer any questions from the media.
This may sting for many Patriots fans as their Hall of Fame QB retires but there's hope in young promising QB Jimmy Garoppolo who has shown he's a capable passer in limited action. If he can continue that success in an expanded role then the Patriots are not in bad of shape as many may think.
