Reviving the Dawg Pound - M17/PS4

So basically this franchise will start after the 2016/17 season. I will recap the 2016 season and dive into the draft and free agency. I know the Browns are the sexy team to rebuild in Madden and since I don’t purchase Madden every year I figure I try my best to turn into a dynasty.

I will be using the fictional draft classes that madden generates ( I have no time to edit every player). I will be playing most of the games out and playing on All-Pro Default, 15 min quarters, 17 seconds runoff.

So just a couple of notes to keep in mind that I felt to be key:

Develop
*Develop WR Corey Coleman – speedy receiver (22 years old). Looks promising and signed through 2019 (4yrs/$11.6M)
*Develop RE Carl Nassib & DT Danny Shelton
*Develop LT Spencer Durango. Still young and learning behind Joe Thomas
*Develop LOLB Emmanuel Ogbah & ROLB Joe Schobert – both young and still on cheap contracts

Keep or Dump
*Terrell Pryor and Josh Gordon playing on their last year of their contract

Questionable Big Contracts
*CB Joe Haden – big contract left (4yrs left. Due $10M 2016-2018 and $17.3M in 2019
*LOLB Jaime Collins – 3yrs/$30.2M left on contract. Decide whether to keep or move
*LT Joe Thomas has 3 years left on $72.5M contract – He’s due $9.66 next two years and $14.5 in the last year (2018)

Find Help
*No RB signed past 2016 except for Duke Johnson (through 2018)
*Find SS/FS
*Find a RT
*LE position needs upgrade – highest rated is a 78

Well, it was a season to expect from the Cleveland Browns in 2016/17. They managed 3 wins and second place….Thats right, 2nd place in the 2017 NFL Draft.

-I decided to give RGIII probably his last shot to be on the team. He and McCown had similar stats in preseason so might as well see what he had left. And he actually wasn’t all that bad. Week 11 RGIII gets hurt and is done for the season with a broken wrist. His stats: 154-263 //1951 yards // 8 TD // 5 INT // 84.0 QBR. McCown took over but the season was already lost.

My mind was pretty much set that both would not be returning to the team in 2017.

-RB Isaiah Crowell was the starting RB to start the year and in week 6 he went down with a Broken Collarbone. He had rushed for 515 yards, 4 TD and had 3.8 YPC up until that point. He didn’t return until week 14.

-Duke Johnson did step in and produce and finished the season with 12 touchdowns

-SS/FS position did absolutely nothing all year long. Our defense gave up the 4th most total yards and our offense was last in total offense and points per game.
