Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Coach Mode - The Robert Osmond Era (PS4)

Hello and welcome to Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Coach Mode - The Robert Osmond Era (PS4) (PS4)

Hello everybody. With the NFL season now well underway, I have been getting the itch to make one last attempt at making and sticking with a Madden 18 franchise here on Operation Sports. I seriously hope that I am able to keep up with it and not get side tracked by all the other going-ons in my life such as work, college, and family life.

Why the Cleveland Browns? I chose the to be the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns because I believe that with a fantasy draft I should be able to immediately turn this team around

I will not discuss any settings or ratings in this franchise, just football and only football. I will try not to do any crazy trades, or try to stock up on dozens of draft picks, as I think that take away for the reality of it..

Every four games of the season I will post team and league wide updates. As I am starting with an fantasy draft I will first post an fantasy draft recap post. This franchise will focus more on the team I am head coach of, the Cleveland Browns, rather than the league as a whole, but, again I will post league updates so you know what is going on around the league. Other than that I just want to have fun with the franchise, without getting too seriously involved in it as that has happened to me before and it makes it too easy to just drop things and have to restart again.

Also any comments/suggestions you might have to help me out along the way would be wonderful. What could I change/do different? You have a trade idea for me to make, let me hear it. Anything at all that could help me and make this franchise more enjoyable for both you and me would be welcomed.

More details to come in future posts - stay tuned and enjoy!

P.S. Was inspired by to make this franchise because of the Madden 25 Cleveland Browns Owner Mode - The Nathan Clayton franchise here on Operation Sports.

Re: Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Coach Mode - The Robert Osmond Era (PS4)

Cleveland Browns Franchise
Welcome to my Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Franchise. I will try to bring the Cleveland Browns, back to prominence and success through the use of a fantasy draft. I will play every game and am hoping to get anyway from five to ten seasons deep in this franchise.

The Story
Roger Goodell has just made a blockbuster announcement, the NFL will hold it first ever fantasy draft in place of the regular NFL offseason free agency and draft. This has been done to shake things up in the NFL and hopefully to increase the ratings. With this news Jimmy Haslam has decided to make major front office and coaching staff changes. Gone are Sashi Brown, Paul DePodesta, and Hue Jackson. Replacing them is just one man, me, Robert Osmond. I have been brought in and given full control over the team as both its new general manager and head coach.

My Personal Rules
Realism - My biggest Rule - Despite having a fantasy draft I will keep realism in my mind in the offseason and while play games. From stats to free agency to trade realism is key.
The Posts - The posts will be split into two per every four games, a Browns post and a league update post. If there is big enough news that will get its own post as well.

I hope you enjoy it. I'm ready to get underway.

Re: Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Coach Mode - The Robert Osmond Era (PS4)

Front Office and Coaching Change In Cleveland

Feb. 13, 2017 marks the day that Robert Osmond was hired to be both the Browns new general manager and head coach, as the day of the Super Bowl, Feb. 6, 2017 Roger Goodell made the announcement regarding the first ever fantasy draft. Osmond has coaching experience as a coordinator at the Division 2 college level but as never been a head coach or general manager before. Osmond is known to be a football strategist and good at evaluating talent hence the reason he has been given the opportunity to be both general manager and head coach of the Browns. Can this lifelong college coordinator and recruiter become a successful head coach and general manager at the next level, the NFL, only time will truly tell, but Browns owners, Jimmy and Dee Haslam sure hope so. Osmond will reportedly run the vertical offense (ARI playbook) and base 4-3 (MIN playbook) schemes.

Re: Madden 18 Cleveland Browns Coach Mode - The Robert Osmond Era (PS4)

Cleveland Browns 2017 Depth Chart

Osmond on team roster: "We hope to compete and contend for the playoffs with this roster but changes can still be made regardless of us contending or not. We are aware that with this fantasy draft we like every other team out there have holes on our roster. Should we be contending we could look to booster our roster and become buyers but should we fall out of contention we could just as easily be sellers as we believe we are pieces/players that other teams who are contenders could potentially view as pieces that could push them to a Super Bowl run. But, again, our key goal is to compete and contend this season but as always we will evaluate our situation each and every week going forward.
