Hello and welcome to Madden 18 - Detroit Lions Fantasy Draft Franchise - Playstation 4

Hello everybody. With the NFL season now well underway, I have been getting the itch to make one last attempt at making and sticking with a Madden 18 franchise here on Operation Sports and believe I have come up with a idea that will help me stick with this franchise unlike my many other. This will be a fantasy draft franchise, however, I will not be making the fantasy draft picks but will rather instead let the computer pick my and every other team's roster. I seriously hope that I am able to keep up with it and not get side tracked by all the other going-ons in my life such as work, college, and family life.

Why the Detroit Lions? I chose the Detroit Lions mainly because I like their head coach and newly re-deisgned uniforms.

I will not discuss any settings or ratings in this franchise, just football and only football. I will try not to do any crazy trades, or try to stock up on dozens of draft picks, as I think that take away for the reality of it..

Every four games of the season I will post team and league wide updates. As I am starting with an fantasy draft I will first post an fantasy draft recap post consisting of my team's roster. This franchise will focus more on the team I am owner of, the Detroit Lions, rather than the league as a whole, but, again I will post league updates so you know what is going on around the league. Other than that I just want to have fun with the franchise, without getting too seriously involved in it as that has happened to me before and it makes it too easy to just drop things and have to restart again.

Also any comments/suggestions you might have to help me out along the way would be wonderful. What could I change/do different? You have a trade idea for me to make, let me hear it. Anything at all that could help me and make this franchise more enjoyable for both you and me would be welcomed.

Welcome to my Madden 18 Detroit Lions Fantasy Draft Franchise.

The Story

NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, has just made a blockbuster announcement, the NFL will hold it first ever fantasy draft in place of the regular NFL offseason free agency and rookie draft. This has been done to shake things up in the NFL and hopefully to increase the ratings. With this news comes the announcement by the Ford family that they have sold their beloved Detroit Lions to Robert Osmond, the 25 year old son of Pennsylvania billionaires for two billion dollars. Osmond is known to have just recently graduated from college with a degree in business and sports management and has long dreamed of owning a NFL franchise. Osmond has announced that team president, Rob Wood, general manager, Bob Quinn, and head coach Jim Caldwell will all return for the 2017-18 season. Lastly, Osmond has made it well known that Wood, Quinn, and Caldwell will be tasked with the handling of the first ever NFL fantasy draft and that he has complete faith in them.

My Personal Rules

Realism - My biggest Rule - Despite this being a fantasy draft franchise I will keep realism in my mind in the offseason and while play games. From stats to free agency to trade realism is key.
The Posts - The posts will be split into two posts per every four games, a Detroit Lions post and a league update post. If there is big enough news that will get its own post as well, such as a major trade, a team clinching the playoffs, division, etc.
