The Vikings come to town for the first game at Arrowhead Stadium this season and have the #1 points per game in the league after 2 weeks, after a 62 point showing in week 1. In week 2 they lost and only put up 13 points. Meanwhile the Chiefs dominated the first 3 quarters in week 1, then got dominated for the first 3 quarters in week 2. Which teams will show up this week? We will learn a lot about both teams this week as the league continues to try and figure out how good teams are after the fantasy draft. Both teams enter the game 1-1 so it could be very important for building up some early season momentum.
The Vikings are lead on offense by QB Chad Pennington (88), WRs Reggie Wayne (94) and Deon Branch (87), and HB Willie Parker (90). On defense they have one of the best pass rushes on paper, lead by DE Jevon Kearse (89) Osi Umonyeora (90) and Michael Strahan (93), but have only registered 2 sacks on the season so far, and none by those 3 players. They are due for a big game against a Chiefs offensive line who gave up 3 sacks to Bears DE Leonard Little last week.
Kansas City relied on the run to carry them to victory week 1 with HB Clinton Portis (92), but last week they found little success on the ground and WR Isaac Bruce (87) was the main source of offense. He will have to battle CB Nnamdi Asomugha (93) this week. Who will step up this week? It should be an interesting game.
