Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Halfway through year 2 at Spurs, going very well so far.

Sitting second, behind City, but I've got the best offense and the best defense in the league, so I'm feeling good. Got my tactic rolling pretty well; really controlling the ball and locking it down on defense... Which is what I prefer as a manager. Would much rather win 1-0 than 5-4.

I bought Thomas Lemar from Monaco and Saido Berahino from West Brom over the summer. I'm loving my attacking midfield rotation. I have Dele, Pulisic, Eriksen, Lamela, and Lemar occupying my 3 AM spots. Some real quality there, and I'm able to rotate them all pretty fluidly. Berahino provides nice cover for Kane; it's nice to be able to get Kane a rest (Janssen just doesn't do it for me, probably going to sell him after this year)

Doing very well in the Champions League, as well. Tied with Barca and PSG for the most points in the group stage, winning my group which included Real Madrid.

Drew Shakhtar Donetsk for my opponent in the first knockout round. I'm confident against them.

I posted in here a while ago that Moyes has Sunderland rolling really well, they were top of the table after like 10 or 11 games. Check out their recent form, just TUMBLED down the table lol.

Man, I'm so impatient with my tactics. I think I make a change every other game or something.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I've comfortably sat in the top 3 all season, battled through a tone of inures to our star players which seen us drop to 6th and sneak into the playoffs, took on Swindon in the Semi's....now we face Millwall for promotion....this is it!...can we do it!!!

Finally this could be my chance at promotion with Peterborough United!

EDIT: PROMOTION!!!!!

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Is there a good place to go to learn team's best, most used, etc. tactics?

Firing up with Orient, but really know hardly anything about their players, formations, etc. Was unsure if there was a good site with this sort of information so as to help get the ball rolling (no pun intended); before I begin implementing my own tactics of course.

How do you go get your coaching badges? Does the board just randomly offer you to go or is there an option I can initiate myself?

Go to Home and on the My Profile drop down is Start Coach Course. This opens a board meeting to ask to be sent on one. If the team is in the red, they will refuse so don't even bother asking. Otherwise you have a very high chance of them saying yes.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

So I took a job in Slovakia with FC ViOn Zlate Moravce in the second division. We won the tile, but that wasn't from anything I did. They were in that position when I took over (manager left for better job). So coasting to it was easy. Problem was the team was in massive debt and about to go into admin. So we would be relegated the following season and I couldn't improve as a manager for a while. So I stepped down. Ended up getting offered the TNS job without applying and took it. Their manager left for Blackpool.

First game in charge was a 0-7 defeat to Copenhagen in the first leg of the champions league 2nd qualifying round. Off to a smashing start. But I'm already on a badge course.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

First year with TNS was crazy. As the only team in the top flight that is Professional, you are able to bring in players far superior to the rest of the league. We ended up winning the title long before the end of season league split. Ended up winning two cups and pulling a treble. I'm not impressed though. It would have been a major **** up to not accomplish that. I just need to work how we perform in the Champions League qualifying rounds. Next step is try and make a group stage. But that seems almost impossible with the gulf in quality of teams you play just in the second qualifying round.

I think I'll stick around here until all my badges are done. Unless a very good job is offered. I wont be applying for anything. Build up my rep, win some trophies and get those badges. Also try and get as high as I can on the Welsh Hall of Fame.

Oh, and I created a random manager this time. Random name from New Zealand. I usually always make myself. But figured this might be more fun. I was just offered the New Zealand U23 job right before the Pacific Games. Hoping to do well in that and maybe work my way up to the main job.

I'm really enjoying this save.
