You don't want to get promoted too early, otherwise your looking at a sure fire relegation. Take some time & build up your squad quality & depth, then earn promotion when you're ready. Just my two cents......

Zlatan is on fire though. He has 5 goals in 2 games to take over the La Liga Goal Scoring lead from Messi. I do have Xavi and Iniesta tearing through midfields while Messi, Pedro, and Henry rip throught the wings. My experiment playing a very fluid style with Barca has worked to perfection. Watching it makes me smile.

Oddly enough Pedro doesn't even get a match for Barca in my Spurs game. I checked him out to target as a potential future signing, and found him sitting at 0 matches played on the year.

Busquets also doesn't get much action either, and I really like him as a player.

I'm going to have to play around with the FMRTE & see if I can force them into action (can you adjust lineups/tactics for teams using the save game editor?). I also need to tone Berbatov down, he's got 9 goals in 8 matches for Manu, while Rooney only has 2 or 3. Not that I expect the sim engine results to match real life perfectly, but Berbatov isn't that good of a scorer, he's more the type to setup goals.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. This squad isn't built for the Premier League at all, it's just surprising that we're sitting as high as we are.

I'd stay away from FMRTE. Don't tamper with the game, not cool IMO.

Yeah, in all honesty, that squad sucks lol. Not that I'm an expert at championship level footy or anything, but I wouldn't expect that squad to excel in the Championship. You must be one hell of a manager

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I don't play with FMRTE. I do have a spoiler list of who has what potential as a guide to who I typically sign in a game although I love unearthing new gems...

I rotate Busquets regularly as well as Pedro. At the very least, they're solid squad players and young. I'm really really trying to avoid signing every single star player and use the Barca way of developing their youngsters while splashing out for 1 star player every off-season.

Speaking of signings, I just had a 60 million offer accepted for Cesc. A lot of money I know, but someone who I would pay up the arse for

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I would never in a million years **** around with FMRTE.

As for my Napoli, I just suffered my first defeat of the season, falling to Udinese 1-0. It was bull****. Handanovic evidently is the best keeper in the world. I wish there was some way I could upload some of the saves he made. 6 clear cut chances compared to their 0. Their goal was a bomb from Inler from at least 25 yards. Really friggin unlucky!
