Started a new save with Port Vale, drew Tranmere in the first round of the COC. Lost 4-1, I just... sighed heavily. The board are said to be considering my position after one game.

Holy crap I have money.

I'm raiding Southampton, The Ox, and Schneiderlin for under 2M combined.

Honestly, I think that's the way to do it. Just blindly do things until you get a feel for the game. I've been messing with formations, tactics, all sorts of crap seeing what works and what doesn't and now I've got a pretty good feel for it.

You just kind of have to take your lumps early.

Yep. Early on I made some hilarious mistakes like losing a star player on a free transfer because I didn't know how contracts worked. You file a lot of things under "don't EVER do that again".

I'm so afraid to make mistakes I'm not allowing myself to actually do anything. I bought this random Brazilian center back just because other people were bidding on him. Will he fit into my "system"? WHO THE **** KNOWS!

I spent like my entire transfer budget at Arsenal on Leighton Baines. And I'm not even sure he's made a difference.

I've made one transfer move in my career and it was the club record for the most money spent on a transfer.

This is the squad I'm rolling with. The Goal is to avoid relegation.

Was giving £20m in Transfer Budget. Spent about 5m of it, most of it on Ashley Williams from Swansea.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Gladbach lost Marc-André ter Stegen to Barca and replaced him with some random goalie, yet they're still in the top 4 and another chance at CL. I'm jealous.

Bayern just bought Reus in the January transfer window so that's going to be interesting. Dortmund and Bayern are tied for 1st so I'm predicting Bayern to win the Bundesliga after getting Reus. Dortmund lost Lewandowski in the Summer to Chelsea, so it was little surprising to see them at the top. They replaced him with Berbatov, but he hasn't produced much.
