The free games aren't anything special, especially for PS4. Dead Nation? An exact PS3 port and it was free on there 2-3 years ago. Outlast? Meh. Don't Starve is an indie game that I can play for free on my computer.

We're paying $50 a year for a glorified version of the same PSN we've been using for free for years.

The PS4 free games will get better. The system is not even 5 months old so there isn't an enormous catalog to cull games from. Look at how great some of the PS3 free games have been though. This month was Arkham City, one of the best multiplat open world games from last gen IMO.


I think people feel a little entitled since it was free to play online on PS3. When you think about how much those servers have gotta cost to buy and maintain, plus the fact that they're taking a loss on every system sold... where is the incentive for Sony to keep doing this lol. Didn't they lose money overall on the PS3? If we enjoy playing video games and want there to be a PS5 so we can keep playing The Show, I don't think $4.17 a month to play online games is asking too much.

I almost did it. I was holding the PS3 version in my hand earlier today at the store. I put it back and my daughter was the only witness... Luckily.

I work at Wal-Mart and I'm in charge of the video game section so every time I go over there I have to see the PS3 version of The Show looking me dead in the face. Knowing I can't play it hurts my soul.

Play in your kitchen next to some ball parks and a popcorn machine working. LOL.

You know sometimes when playing in my bedroom with my window open in the warm summer I can smell my next door neighbor cooking hot dogs drinking beer and smoking cigarettes coming from his back yard. It kind of reminds me of being at a real stadium. It's a nice affect while playing MLB The Show lol

I also like having a real ball game on the radio in the back round while playing quite often.

While I agree, lots of vets here only play the show and have zero want for other games. Free or not.

Yeah this exactly.

I barely have time for The Show as it is (the main reason I have no problem waiting for the PS4 version), between school and work. My secret to getting in 162 games in franchise mode in The Show? Don't play any other video games, or play any other modes, or anything, ever. 100% of my video game time goes into baseball.

So it's not that I don't think the PS Plus price is valid, but it's definitely not justified for me personally. There's a very small list of games I hold a serious interest in, and I know that realistically, I'd never get around to playing other games, even if I got them for free.

I wish they had some sort of "casual" option... ie: 10-20$ a year for fewer free games, a limit on hours spent online, etc...

But like I said, 50 a year is not unreasonable, in general... Maybe when I graduate (13 months to go!) it will be a more realistic purchase for me.
