Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I'm in the Madden threads a lot and I haven't heard anything substantial about a BIG overhaul. Just the same kind of yearly hype.
I will be calling Gamestop tomorrow morning to reserve a copy of The Show. Madden, I'm kind of "meh" right now, but really excited about "The Show".Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Seeing that NHL trailer with cloth physics (realise it's not in game so can't judge) and nba2ks cloth I really hope MLB significantly improves its uniforms next year.
FIFA, NBA2k and now looks like NHL have really pushed the ps4 in that regard.
Playing the show for hours over the weekend the game looks beautiful but the uniforms really let it down.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Played the game all weekend... all of you are going to be very happy when you finally get your copy.
A couple of the things I like
Quick Counts - Finally! Makes pitch counts more realistic and now I can finish a game in 30-40 minutes love it!
New Stadiums - Haven't played in them all yet but damn what an improvement, atmosphere feels a lot more realistic compared to PS3
New Player Models/Hair - Players look very realistic, uniforms look great, and the hair damn!
A couple of things hopefully to be improved in next years version
Rain - I wish the player models actually got wet, currently they stay dry even though its pouring
Rain Delays PLEASE!
Texture Replacement - Most textures got revamped but there is still some old PS3 textures being used in stadiums etc.
New Commentary - Needs a refresh
Overall though I am very happy with the transition from PS3 to PS4 so far and I cant put this game down. I cant wait to see next years version!Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Absolutely a great time to be a sports gamer! The Show releases at Midnight on the PS4, which sounds to be another great installment. Especially for those, like me, who are converted 360 owners.
Also, looks like Madden may be in store for some big changes. Even more exciting, EA announced sweeping changes for NHL 15 next-gen, including new announcers and NBC style broadcasts! For those baseball fans who love hockey too, I'd go check that out. I think others may follow suit and freshen up presentation (hopefully!). Although it doesn't change gameplay, it makes the game feel fresh and new.Really the 2nd reason I bought a Playstation 4
What a day this is, closest thing to a birthday I have ever experienced.Red LegendComment

I'm not a programmer so I can't try to tell them exactly what to do, but I can narrow down what area of commentary I believe is the weakest and that approach may help.
Anyway, I'm on off to find where this NHL 15 PS4 trailer is.Last edited by @legendm0de; 05-05-2014, 10:32 AM.Red LegendComment

So I can call tomorrow, and they will reserve a copy for me. When I called, they said they have extras above the actual reserved copies.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I called game stop and they said I could call to reserve a copy, but only on release day. Before release day, I would have had to go down their w/ 5$. Which I would have done, but was too busy over the weekend to do it.

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Just saw the NHL 15 preliminary fact sheet and saw 9000 unique crowd models. I'm thinking we will see a pretty large leap in 15 for MLB when they have a full year. Note NHL did not release as they were on the edge of the window for PS4/XBOX1 and held back to get a full year of development.Comment

These are just two examples I've found that anyone can see clearly (wont bore you all with others) Small issues thst hopefully get caught next year.
I see you think the uniforms are nice? To me they are just
Up-rezzed ps3 unis. Zoom into the scripts/numbers and you will see they dont look great.
I was hoping to see correct fabrics, like the dazzle twill multiple uniforms have.
Its something the nba2k artists have nailed and even had it last gen.
All in all though there is a significant difference just some little issues.Comment

I think with the release of the Show tomorrow, we will see the end of major effort and focus going into PS3/360 sports games. They may add the new feature that made it into next-gen, but wouldn't count on much else. I think they will tend to be more of a roster update then anything else.
The more next-gen can separate itself from the current, the more people will upgrade their console. The more people who upgrade their console, more resources can be allocated to next-gen improvements. People look at the first round of games released and say I'll wait. The 2nd round of games, I think, will make everyone jump ship.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I know. NHL had almost 2 years to develop that game. I wonder what the Show has in the pipeline that had no chance of making it in this year but will definitely be in next. I think player models and equipment will be the focus (not only based on feedback so far, it's just logical).
