Nomo's post is really spot on. Not much I can add there.

One point I would like to make is that I do agree with the point made above about lower difficulties seeing higher strike percentages and how it feels counterintuitive.

It's been almost a year now, so I apologize for not remembering Brian's exact response, but I brought up my opinion to him on this specifically regarding strike percentages on Veteran difficulty.

I believe he said that although the frequency is higher, to my suprise it's only by 1%-2%. Obviously, this is just a base as there are a lot of factors concerning strike percentages. Several of which Nomo covered.

As far as strikes go, one thing that I feel would change the feel of batting/pitching dramatically is the size of the strike zone. I'd love to see a more accurate depiction of the strike zone in MLB 14, but I'm not really sure on how far MLB would let SCEA go, or if they can do anything at all about it. The game does call pitches...slightly off the plate strikes sometimes, but I've never seen a single call as bad as you'd see in an actual MLB game.

If you go on brooksbaseball (http://brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/zoneTrack.php) and just select a few random games it becomes clear that the strike zone as defined by the rules isn't really close to what actual MLB umpires call. Its shorter and wider than what the rules and MLB 13 represent. I doubt much can be done about this, but its something I would love to see implemented at some point, even as an option. More diverse and drastic umpire AI so that one day we could actually see a strike called in The Show that is as bad of a call thats in a real MLB game.

This isn't really a thing that would be allowed by the PS4, but something I've wanted to see in an MLB video game for a long time.

Anyone know what the release date for MLB 14 is? I see on some sites it says April 1st, but am curious to see if that is just a placeholder.

eIf I had to bet, I'd say it will be out Tuesday March 4. Usually always the first Tuesday in March. I really hope we get a new play-by-play man this year for ps4!! We need someone fresh. Of course as a Yanks fan, I'd love John Sterling, but anyone will be better!

If its anyone I'd like it to be the Mets broadcast crew obviously. Quite clearly that's not a reality, but they aren't anywhere close to your typical biased team specific broadcasters.

As a visually impaired player, one thing I'd love the announcer to do is a radio style play-by-play, it'll enhance the presentation! And you are right, Garry Cohen was amazing when he was on Mets radio, even though I'm a Yanks fan, I listen to every team and love many teams radio guys.

No. Sony's working out a PS3 streaming solution with Gaikai by all accounts, but it's not ready yet and probably won't be for some time.

Now I agree with you about Suzyn, but John Sterling would be great from an excitement standpoint! Second choice would be Tom Hamilton, the radio voice of the Indians. If you have never heard him, youtube him and tell me you wouldn't love hearing him when you hit a homer!

I like Sterling. I knew he was a bit older than me but believe it or not the dude is 75. Shocked.

As impressed as I was by FIFA last gen, The Show was the crown jewel of sports gaming—I'm not a baseball first guy either. First time in years I find myself with big expectations for a game. It's the reason I bought a PS4. I trust these devs to keep, and even enhance, the core brilliance of the pitcher/batter duel at the heart of this series.

I also hope progression, and the resulting inflated stats down the line in franchise and RttS, gets ironed out.

While NBA 2k14 hits some next gen notes, I'm expecting The Show to give us a real first taste considering it's a first party title.
