In that series the trade deadline triggers a mini-game in which a certain number of offers come in per hour. Once you review, accept, or decline those offers you are then allowed to make a certain number of offers within that hour as well or choose to advance to the next hour. This continues for approximately four to five cycles (hours) until the deadline passes.

It helps to make trade deadline trading feel distinctive from trades at other points in the season and brings a sense of urgency to the whole situation as well.

For instance, now at the trade deadline in The Show you can stop the simulation and make 100's of different combinations of offers to various teams to acquire whoever you want. In the NHL version of the deadline, the player you really want stands the chance of going to a team willing to meet the original team's price because trade simulation is going on even though game simulation is not.

If team X offers me a deal for player X (who I would love to have) I better not screw around too much or team X will actively search for another home for that player. It makes me take the computer's offers a little more seriously as final offers instead of starting points for endless trade discussions.

It does not allow me to play with the system by limiting the number of offers I can make right at the deadline which adds a bit more to the pressure when reviewing or making offers.

In in a vaguely related note, I am also in favor of seeing the number of players possible in a trade jump up from the current 3 and having the option to include cash or eat some of a larger contract would be nice as well.
While I don't fully understand your explanation, that seems like a system that should be in place all season long, and not just on trade deadline days. Either way though it sounds interesting.

Off the top of my head:

      1. Better ball physics/hit variety
      2. Generated pitch counts!!!!!
      3. Create a stadium
      4. More accessories/have different webbing choices for the gloves
      5. No more "washed out" coloring

Out of all the ridiculous things that I've read in this thread, this has to be the worst. This will never happen in the game, ever.

first of all nothing is ridiculous if it's (IMO) and second of all, last i checked baseball brawls do happen in real baseball games, but benches usually clear, punches are thrown, followed by ejections! and if you are asking for sim game why not have this in the game ? it's not political correct ? lolz jeez the ps4 is so powerful its more than capable of doing it. and back in the Nintendo days there where actually a few baseball video games that had brawls and injections in them, so i guess the devs back then where ridiculous

The reason is that Major League Baseball wants to protect its image, and I'm sure as God made little green apples that the last thing they want associated with their product is fighting. Bench-clearing brawls should not be part of the game in any case, and Baseball has been heavy handed when it comes to handing out suspensions because it has no place in the game.

If you stop and ask yourself why Baseball wouldn't want fighting in a game that represents their product, the answer is quite clear.

Heh.....if the MLB forced SCEA to remove the "snot rocket" cut scene(which it did)....you can absolutely rule out fights.
They probably don't even want the argument cutscene or the batter jawing at the ump or pitcher in there.

But...even if it was allowed, what purpose would it serve?
IMO, it would just be wasted development time. I'm not interested in fighting in my game of baseball. Arguing, I wouldn't mind...IF they added in an element of it meaning something in regards to both umpire attitude and team morale...

RELOCATION!!! please for the love of god add this i would love to take a team to a new city, build a new stadium, change the uniform/logo, pretty much just like what Madden 25 is doing. This is my number one addition for Franchise mode i want on next gen. I just want gameplay improvements and the crowd need the biggest improvement (they look awful when zoomed in).

I imagine body types would be expanded, unless they're porting the same engine(hope not). And maybe body types coming into play in more ways than you'd think. Like a person with long arms at the plate might struggle with getting the bat head through inside but they have better outside and low plate coverage. And with pitches too. They get some faster ball speeds but more room for mechanics error. It would naturally help out a lot in fielding and at first base for those stretches.

And maybe more processing power means smarter AI managing. Like no more calling a young prospect up and letting him rot away on the bench, not even in some kind of platoon duty, but for spot starts when the main guy gets a night off. That is no way to pass those career goals. And could really do with not being called up before minor league all-star games. So I always make sure to fail goals leading up to them.

I'd love to see durability/injuries get looked into a bit. I said in another thread maybe there should be an energy rating in addition to a durability rating. Too many times I'm sitting guys who really should be out there almost every day. Now that I think back on it, I think the energy rating would be kind of pointless and stupid.

Maybe have an attribute of "Injury prone" and be able to set it to yes or no. That way I don't have to worry about having Pedroia out there with low energy, as opposed to, say, Brian Roberts (assuming his would be set to yes).

OT, if someone has a low durability rating and their energy is low, are they more likely to get injured then someone who has the same energy level but a higher durability rating?

This one is kind of a minor one, but it would be cool: add the splash cam from AT&T park so you can see the balls landing in McCovey Cove. Also it would be nice to get the distance of every homerun hit, not just every once in a while.

I just want some modest improvements. I want the grass to be more vibrant and really stand out (as well as the sky, and pretty much everything to be more vibrant and lively.)

Stats. Stats. I'm a big numbers and franchise guy. I hate being only able to see avg/hr/rbi from previous years. It's nearly impossible to evaluate a player that way. I hope to see more stats, if they could integrate something with fangraphs that would be awesome. I'd just love to see complete statistical anaysis.

and lastly deliveries for pitchers. i still feel like a lot of deliveries and "robotic" and don't mimic the pitchers real deliveries still. hopefully with a better system they can make some adjustments.

and some small things i always thought would be cool: how about a first persion camera of your player walking from the on deck circle to the batters box. have them walk up, dig in, look around, in first person view would be really cool. maybe intregrate some post game interviews in the clubhouse.

and the dream game i've always wanted to play since i was a kid: a game so realistic that you would literally drive to the stadium in a nice BMV, hangout in the clubhouse, then go out to the field and play. haha like the Sims I guess. just a complete real life simulation lol.

I'd really like to see games like this take advantage of DLC and allow us to purchase stadiums of minor league teams, and authentic old school rosters and era driven content. Making material like this optional DLC, would be a successful approach.

Gameplay wise, I'm wondering now how far physics for ball throwing and contact will be able to come. In the past we've had numerous debates about whether the physics of ball hitting were right , wrong or how to make it right. With the PS4, this issue is in the hands of developers to get this right universally.

And honestly I want to see the most work and effort go into this category. After all, this is what baseball is most about, out of all categories we concern ourselves with regarding this game. The science of hitting a baseball correctly is why we even buy this game in the first place correct

Ohh and commentary, I had an idea of how they should approach it. Doubtful we will see this in 14' but I would still hope people paid to do this thought of this before me. For MLB The Show to go into the world of good commentary, my idea consists of 2 things. Talk about, things in a coach worthy manner. This will also help players learn how to play the game. The color guys should talk as if they are 2 coaches going back and forth on various things about the game. It would be so genuine commentary, to hear for example topics like:

Why you fouled off a pitch instead of lining it.
What kind of lead to get on 1st base if going to steal.
Pitching mechanics, Hitting offspeed pitches etc etc

They're approach to commentary right now is so canned and 1 dimensional and at times very annoying. They should never again, be allowed to say things that distract me as a player toward what I'm doing. Like when it's said, "I'm sure a fastball is coming here... Pitch thrown .. "Ok maybe not (chuckles)" OMG Shutup!

As for the play by play guy, he needs to be alot more improved. First step, is to take a lesson from radio broadcast, where the game was founded and develop something that translates that level of broadcasting into a video game.

I know it probably won't happen but I would love to see Vin Scully make a return as an announcer. Back when SECA was still putting out the MLB title under 989 Sports they had Scully as the color commentator. Just a pipe dream I guess but it would be amazing.

I Think Progression gets tweaked again for Franchise and RTTS. It still has a couple of bugs that need to be fixed but other then that I think it's on the right path.

Would love to see something similar to EA Sports gameface system when it comes to creating players. If they managed something like that It would make creating some of the old timers and new prospects that much easier.

I know they are extensive as it is but I'm hoping for some more batting stances and maybe some reanimation's of some of the older players.
