The innovation won't be in graphics alone, though I expect them to look very good as usual. But it'll be a bunch of relatively "little things" that will add up.

I wanna see more things like more realistic cloth physics and uniform deformation, more accurate dirt applying to player's clothes. Better body part articulation, like instead of that creepy bend at the wrist players are prone to doing, see the bat being handled up in the fingers sometimes when touching the plate or whatever. Better player physics. More body types.

It'll look great if done right. That's the wave the future, graphics will eventually top out, like said. But there's always better ways to make the game look in motion.

I wonder if they'll redo ALL the animations. I'm talking about scrapping ever single bit of animation that they did from '07-13.

THis idea is distracting me from playing my current matchup, I can't keep it to myself any longer.

Online Mode- Coop Baseball. Up to 18 players, pick your spot. Pick which user is manager. Manager chooses lineup order & regulates bullpen. Each player can pick their own position & which player on 25 or 40 man roster they'll use.

About 8 years ago I used to play a game called UBO (Ultimate Baseball Online, i believe). It was a 3-3 or 9-9 experience. If it was just 3-3, the cpu would control the other players. It was such an awesome experience as each player had persistent stat tracking, and a progression leveling system similar to an RPG.

The game actually got a fancy title after awhile, involving Cal Ripken. Sadly, it soon shut down.

I think this would be a very good idea if it helps getting rid of all those awkward animations that happen every now and then

I would like to be able to use any uniform that has been available on all the editions of The Show since '07. I am sure this wouldn't be a problem with the 4. Not enough memory on the 3 to add this in next year? Playing White Sox MLB 12 red and white unis. these are nice and to be able to use the entire collection for all the teams would be cool.

I will be disappointed if this isn't the case. Like you said, it shouldn't be a problem with the PS4's memory capabilities.

The graphics themselves won't be much better. Having more RAM will allow them to add more effects such as better lighting and higher quality background textures that make the game look better. To illustrate my point, just look at this image.



We've reached a point of diminishing returns on polygon counts. While graphics are getting better exponentially every generation it's getting to such a high number that it will be hard and harder to tell the difference as compared to the difference between NES and SNES.

Yes, but (I know you said some of this) better lighting, higher resolution textures and an overall resolution boost will do wonders. Polygon counts do not have to go up for significant graphical improvements.

Also more RAM will allow high-level graphics to be used in more areas. Instead of realistic player models and paper mache fans, we will have realistic player models AND realistic fans.

In the end, that equates to "better" graphics.

My dream is that The Show on PS4 tracks stats and player transactions to the same level as OOTP.

I don't mind sweaty caps.....
It would be pretty sweet if they could somehow start a 90 degree day game with no sweat and then as the game progressed the caps then got a ring of sweat on them.

The same why I would really love for the editor to have 3 or 4 slots for facial hair and for the game to cycle through them at times. So you would see some players be clean shaven...then a few days later some stubble.....then maybe a fill beard for a bit...back to clean shaven etc.
(It would be very nice to be able to have the same and be able to edit facial hair for real players as well....but with the face scans and artists rendering of real player faces...this may not be possible or editable.)

For players with mullets, I'd like so see the hair flowing when they're running the bases or chasing down balls, instead of just being lumped together like it is now.

It would be nice if sweating through was part of edit player, because the way the new, new era caps are made (of polyester not wool) most players don't sweat through them visibly hardly at all. unless they sweat profusely
