Yeah the idea of renting out name rights is nice in concept, but I don't like how impermanent it is. A stadium should have the same name from the day it opens until the day it is torn down. Seeing your home stadium get a new name every few years is annoying, and it definitely gets old.

yeah, and it leaves u confused. When i first heard about the Seahawks playing at CenturyLink Field, I was like "I thought they played at Quest field" (or whatever it was).

If it's not in Day 1, I feel as though that is a very easy patch.

I actually disagree. There would probably need to be new VO work as well as art within the stadium (assuming that the new name will appear somewhere within the park).

I'm not saying that it couldn't be patched, but it wouldn't be "very easy" to do. Especially the voice over part as they would need to bring the guys back in to re-record any lines that mention its name. I would figure that would be difficult to schedule and may not be worth the effort.

Right. The only other option would be to cut out all commentary lines with the old name, and have people complain about that instead.

Stadium art fixes after the game's gone gold aren't very common either - I think there's only been a handful of them over the series history. While that probably hasn't happened yet, I still think it's way too late in the cycle for them to be adding art assets.

Don't get the panic, this is the same thing that happened for The Show 07 which was the first The Show ps3 game, it didnt come out till like May. I'd rather them take their time to deliver quality then put out a rushed product.

If I remember correctly the PS3 version was atually scheduled to come out in April in time for the MLB season and was then delayed until May around the end of March. This time around I've assumed they don't want to "delay" the game, so instead are waiting until they are confident on a release date. Even then there was a lot more information on the development of the game. Things are different now obviously in terms of how marketing is done, but I understand why everyone is concerned and feel the need to vent a bit. At this point it just doesn't matter, info will come out, when it comes out.

Been on here for two years and visit the threads DAILY. This year has deffinitely been different. Everyone replies back to each other in a nasty manner. Now I know people are getting repetitive in what they bring up, but no need to make posts mocking them or posting GIFs/pics that make fun of the poster. Having said that, I am in agreement with the people who say we should all calm down and just wait for the cards to drop. We shouldn't be so nasty around here, unless we have to.

Well said. If a Mets fan can be the voice of reason and not bitter around here after what he's been through being a fan of that franchise for the past decade, then we all can. Although I will say this, being a Braves fan, I'm keeping a close eye on the Mets. I don't expect much this year but the following year, they could make some noise. Harvey comes back with your other up and coming pitchers. Pair that with some wise spending in FA this past offseason and maybe next offseason too, you have a contender. As long as we can keep the Phillies in the basement of the division, I'm happy!

I agree, I know for me, spring training games will keep me going, and if its not out by opening day, the games will hold me over as well. I'm sure it'll be just as good as years past, and even better on ps4! Bought a ps4 just for the show, and the mlb.tv app.

Totally off topic from the theme of this thread the last few ten pages ha, but I hope Miller Park gets the new grass around home plate. Shouldn't be a problem since I heard they are rebuilding all the stadiums from scratch. Same with the White Sox stadium beyond the outfield wall, etc.

Last year the fact sheet came on 14.01.2013, Monday.
The game came out on 05.03.2013, Tuesday.

If the game comes out this year on 01.04.2014, Tuesday
Then the fact sheet will come out on 10.02.2014, Monday

Exactly 7 week before release

However in 2011 and 2012 the fact sheet came out on 07. february, which was just 1 month from release date.

Sadly I have bad new too: the release date for pevious titles was confirmed in november. This could mean, that the game will come out 5 months from the confirmation of the release date, which is july 2014. In this case.

Anyway just stay calm, and watch spring training baseball!
