Rusty? How about locked tight! I've never played this game. In fact, I haven't played a baseball game since 2004-ish. I don't even remember who made the game. I do plan on getting a PS4 when the game comes out and now I can't wait.

Part of my point is, is there a thread for beginners? And should I rent The Show 13 to acclimated to the game play?

Wait, if you've had the ps3 what have you been waiting for? Why haven't you gotten this game previously?

Well...I got the PS3 about 3 years ago to play one game and one game only. FIFA. I thought I was too old to be play video games regularly. I was also working for the Rays' and getting burned out on baseball so I didn't even consider it when a few of the younger guys asked me if I wanted play.

Then picked up NCAA this past December and realize that there are more 'older' players that play so thought what the heck? Why not.

I feel like I missed the boat on all three games.

Oh man, you've missed a hell of a game! You'll be blown away I'm sure by the ps4 version. I mean even I'll be blown away, and I'm visually impaired! lol!

Definitely if you can rent '13 or even buy it cheaply it's worth getting to get your eye in.

GAH ! I don't think that there is anywhere here in St. Pete that rents games anymore! The only Blockbuster within 35 miles of here stopped doing that long ago. If I can get it for $20, Ill buy used I guess.

Gotta ask How'd you become a Rockies supporter? I'm a Rockies supporter as well but Everton is my football team. I do like Hull City and Oldham as well.

I'm thinking about buying Leeds. Why not? Everyone else is trying to, right?

well, im guessing you're referring to online/DD.. but there was definitely an option to change it in exhibition and franchise modes.

Are you serious? I didn't see that! lol, that's a joke, I'm visually impaired! Seriously though, I should have looked closer! At least I know for 14, what do I change it to, classic guess pitch?

Actually it is not an option to use the old classic guess pitch. it was taken out and SCEA made a philosophical decision not to add it back. Right or wrong, agree or disagree it's their choice. I stopped using guess pitch all together. Id still prefer to have the old one back though as it was never used for my ability to hit or not as Im batting .410 in my first year in the show in RTTS playing on legend all the way up through.

Also Russel has said the timing window is not changing. Too many people had problems hitting prior to MLB 13 and they wont be adjusting that, it was put in to make the game more accessible. Again, its a philosophical change they made...and sliders can help with that at least.

So if I understand the new system right, for anything to show up you have to guess both pitch and location correctly. Unless you guess one or the other, but not both.

Correct. I switched to no feed back and just have it on to see pitch sequencing, but I can understand in your case the old system was ideal.

I can understand the devs POV that the old system gave away too much info and made it too easy. Players could use it unrealistically to game the system, But others used it as they see fit. To say Guess pitch made the game too easy and then open up the timing window to make the game too easy just made me scratch my head, but in the end we have to adapt and go with the direction the company sees as being best for everyone.

SCEA has a game to make to appeal to as many people as possible and do an amazing job. In some instances I can see how changes affect others and how they play a lot more than the regular gamer and thats the down side..for guys like me, I just have a preference, I have to adapt, others they dont have a choice. SCEA routinely goes above and beyond for most on here so its hard to take a strong stance too often.

All very true! Its hard for me to describe exactly how it helps a visually impaired person. It isn't guessing pitch type that helps me, but location does help in determineing if I should swing. I'll tell you this, it's truely amazing I can be really good at this game, you still have to see what you're doing, and I can only see a little out of my left eye.

I'll tell you this, it's truly amazing I can be really good at this game, you still have to see what you're doing, and I can only see a little out of my left eye.

I can understand, I used it to draw walks..I would adjust my sliders a lot more to lessen the benefit. The old guess pitch mechanism was the only way I made it over 65 BB a season...my BAVG was never an issue.
