It'll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out for them with the PS4 now out. I think PS3 sales will be as high as ever since it's releasing around opening day, but I don't think PS4 version will do as well as they hope. I think they will miss out on a lot of the casual fan purchases because it's being released so late, especially if there is no upgrade offer.

The only benefit is there aren't many big games out yet. There are some good titles out now and some fun indies, but there isn't that great next-gen game yet. The Show may fill that void and sell better on the PS4 than I think it will because there's a shortage of quality titles since it's so new. But as I said above, I think no upgrade offer will hurt the sales (if they choose not to offer it). Baseball isn't as popular as it once was and releasing 1/3 of the way into the season won't help sell it to the people on the fence (especially those snap decision buyers who might have purchased because the season just started).

I would agree with this, however, I think stadium sounds are a lot more relevant in NCAA than MLB. Perhaps because I am more in tune with that sort of thing re: NCAA (no pun intended), but I don't think I could tell you a single player's walk up music--except the retired Chipper Jones. Whereas I know all of Auburn's music, and a lot of other SEC music as well.

Still dont understand how punishing the development team for no sounds of the Show when it was not their doing proves any kind of point/agenda???

For me, the May date isn't really that big of an issue. I'm one of those baseball nuts who doesn't miss a single Yanks game, and watches at least 4 games a day, so on most days, I play the show in the mornings and early afternoons if there's no games. The time will fly by, it'll be May before I know it.

I would much rather them have the game out with an extra two months of polishing it, rather than releasing it two months earlier when its not ready. They release it early, then have to wait on a patch which comes with 50 different "they are using us as game testers" threads.

It reminds me of how some people said they wouldn't buy the game because Barry Bonds wasn't in it. I understand SoTS was a big part of the game for some people, but it is greatly outweighed by the improvements the PS4 version might have and not just visually for me personally. But that's a personal choice.

If SoTS>MLB 14 on PS4 than that is their choice. At a point though if SoTS isn't possible they will have to move on if they want the year-to-year improvements and the new OSFM. The PS3 verison won't exist forever.

I am actually fine if SOTS is not in the PS4 version of the Show. Last year I put in a lot of effort and work to get the sounds of the show right but realized that I barely listened to the sounds as I would "x" through a lot of the presentation to be able to get through a season. I don't think SOTS is a deal breaker for me either way. Just want to play the damn game already

You're more reasonable, some people have actually stated that no SoTS = no PS4 upgrade.

I agree.. And let's be honest, when comparing to the PS4 version, that game looks "bad"! I couldn't even get excited about the video because I won't be playing the PS3 version. Though I was disappointed that the swings did not get updated.
And by bad I mean when you are comparing the PS3 to the PS4 verison.. The game still looks good obviously.
