Sorry I should have been more specific. You Can't edit the ear flaps this year on ML players.

EXAMPLE: In the game Scooter Gennett of the Brewers has dual flaps. In real life he does not wear the dual flaps anymore and in MLB 14 this cannot be changed via the player editor.

Watching the marlins v Rockies, hope we get those metallic purple batting helmets on PS4.

It's those kind of details I'm looking forward to.

For anyone that has this for PS3, what are the different options for season length on Online Franchise?

A few positives that could result from this May 6 release date are that we should in return have all new managers and players missing from the PS3 version for not having MLB service time yet. If anyone has any intel on that I would like to know.

Players will be in, but no one knows for sure if they'll be SCEA caps or if it will be a real facial scan and portrait. As for managers I highly doubt it, but we could all be surprised in the end.

SCEA needs to throw us a bone already haha I don't care if this is release week for the PS3.

These are the options for a 30 team league.

                For a Divisional league:
                - Max playoff teams: 2,4,6,8,10
                - Playoff series (all including wildcard): 1,3,5,7 games
                - Total games: 14, 29, 40, 82, 120, 162
                - On/off options: Draft, DH, allow trades, trade approval, allow free agents (only off if trades off)

With round-robin you have more options for number of games per season by manipulating games per series, series length and series per opponent.

I must say, nothing against Sony, but since I'm not getting a PS3 copy, now that it's out and people have stopped speculating and such and their now playing, these boards have gotten boring. Is it Monday yet?? lol. I imagine PS4 stuff will start rolling out in succession starting on Monday.

Thanks. I'm glad there is 40 on the dot. That's what my OF will be using

I hope we finally start hearing things about the PS4 version on Monday and hopefully we will be able to see it in motion. I have watched that one video over and over again to try and pick out things from the few seconds of game play.

Here's a discussion question to chew on for a while...
Seeing as this is the first cycle on the new console, and everything that goes with it, will the PS4 version receive better reviews/praise/ratings than the PS3 version? We already know the graphics are better, but will San Diego Studios be able to recreate the same success on their first try on a new console?

These were the metacritic scores past generation transition.

I remember The Show 08 really took the graphics to the next (gen) level but it looks like The Show 14 on the PS4 will shine right away!

The problem with sports games are that people cry foul so quickly saying it's basically the same game year after year. It should receive better ratings, assuming no massive bugs or glitches. However, people have a preconceived notion of what next-gen should be and heaven forbid it doesn't live up to it or feels too much like current gen (many of which are completely unrealistic).

There's only one way to play baseball, there's a rule book saying what you can and cannot do. The Show's gameplay is what makes it the game that it is. There's not much room for changes to begin with, but changing for the sake of change could destroy the game. The problem they may run into is that they mastered the feel of baseball too quickly. I feel Madden has a ways to go to truly master football (running feels pretty good, passing & db/wr interactions need a lot of work). That's why Madden can go up and down year to year and The Show has been consistent.

We'll have to wait and see how the reviews go next-gen because of this. The reviews could go lower and lower because it's the same game with a few new animations and nicer graphics each year or it could remain constant because it replicates its real-life counterpart incredibly well.

I do think there will some game-changer in the next few years with sports games. Someone will crack an AI code or the way player movements are that will give a whole new feel to these games.

I seriously can't believe how hard this is to wait until May. I know it will be well worth the wait, but I feel like I need to play The Show now. My wife thinks I will crack..

Plus my bro buying the game and already playing RTTS with his son isn't helping either... Lol...
