Thats pretty much my last hope too.

If they are gone, well, is it the end of the world? No. Will the game still be incredible? Yes.

But yeah, i will be disappointed and left wondering why we werent told...

That said we dont have confirmation either way yet, so hope springs eternal!

Well...thats that then, the videos that are coming out have confirmed no fly ins.

Like i said above, its not the end of the world, far from it, but perhaps a bit of openness on here wouldnt have gone amiss in terms of answering the questions of many people in terms of whether it were in or not.

Ive no doubt its not in for the right reasons, i.e. it was causing framerate issues or just wasnt quite right, and SCEA wont put something in until its right, which is fine, i get that and appreciate it, i think the issue, as i said, is more about perhaps just admitting so before we had to find out this way is what has irked people.

Anyway, it is what it is, as they say!

Roll on tomorrow...

Very dissapointing to say the least. Not a game breaker and it will still be amazing.

At this point it isnt much more than a better looking ps3 version (which isn't a bad thing)

With most of the work seemingly going into the "rebuilt" stadiums I will definitely be studying them with a fine tooth comb.

I jest when I say this but.

Next gen MLB.

1.Higher rez graphics
2.Crowd signs
3.60 more fan models.

For me the upgraded graphics are certainly worth it but I can see why some people arent quite ready to drop $410.

I think they would look fine if they just altered the length. Its like the ends of the bill cover the majority of the players face. If they just shortened the length on them i think they would look fine.

So I see MLB The Show is not above the usual - hyped up like crazy for a lonnnng time; only to suffer the "letdown and disappointment etc" that every other game in the history of games has suffered at the hands of the forums.

I'm still beyond excited about having a quality baseball game at my disposal.

Anyways, what are the chances some of these "removals" or things that are missing make it into the game with the (presumptuous) day 1 patch that nobody has seen yet?

No features or things that that have been removed will be added in patches.

That's assuming they have a PS3 and will be buying a PS4 only to play The Show and nothing else. For former 360 owners, it's well worth the price because it's a big upgrade over MLB2k, plus all future iterations of The Show (which will have the PS4 further separating itself from the PS3 version).

Personally, I think we'll be surprised how different it feels. Taking Madden or BF4, for example, videos make them look almost identical but actual gameplay was noticeably better. It won't be night and day different, but mid-day sun and sunset different (to keep the analogy going). You definitely notice the difference, but its still light out (I'm really stretching this analogy....).

I have a quick random question about pitching. I played the PS3 version for the 2nd time ever last night and tried Pulse pitching. Is the point to stop the circle when it's as small as possible or as large as possible?

I tried the other pitching modes but struggled. They seemed really sensitive. Small misses seemed like pitches ended up WAY off. Or I did them wrong. If anyone has a link to vid or text explanation of the different modes, that would be awesome!!

For Pulse, the object is to stop it as small as possible. And try classic if all else fails.

I can't help but feel a little disappointed by the lack of lighting done on the stadium and city, the cardinal and cola signs are not illuminated, no lights on the crowd, it looks like st. Louis is suffering from a black out and they only had enough generators to run the lights onto the field

The shows always been like this.

I thought with the "rebuilt" stadiums things like signs etc would be lit.

The grass looks like the kind of grass you get in incredibly hot dry countries. Not the beautiful lush well watered carpets of MLB cathedrals.

I'll agree. It was like this in the shots leading up to release. And surprisingly made it like that into retail copies. (Especially given the extra time needed for the PS4 development), it's a shame things are like this. (They're not going to do it, but it'd be nice if they went back to ALL the stadiums and see what they missed, and fix it for a patch.)

Is that screen from a retail copy or is that from one of the trailers or SCEA videos?

If that's retail, final build, then that's disappointing. After I saw in the videos that none of the signs were lit at Busch I just assumed they had the signs turned off because it wasn't optimized yet, but that it would be lit in the final build.

Looking at it again, there's the game logo in the bottom right, I dont think you can get that there from a fan made capture. Maybe this IS from SCEA. Maybe we're in luck that it's not like that....
