I think the trade makes a lot of sense if SF loses a pitcher to injury, because their 1-5 seems pretty solid.

Yeah Brown has been their top rated prospect. Think it was 2-3 years ago but his stock has fallen. There's no room in the big league pen for Hembree and his heater so he's expendable. Crick is really solid and I'd rather aim for him than Blackburn or Escobar.

There's always room for a guy like Samardzija in your rotation, even if you're the Giants

Goins is more Barney-lite-lite, but yeah, pretty much.

A Rasmus trade could look like:

        To Seattle: Rasmus+
        To LA Dodgers: Nick Franklin
        To TOR: Joc Pederson

If you're playing a single team franchise and you are trying to make a trade that is realistic and fair and the game won't let you, just adjust the ratings for the guy you're trading for. Write down the guys ratings and just put them all to 0. Trade for him and put his ratings back once its accepted.

Smoak went to South Carolina. Also you should play with force trades or 30 team control if you're looking for realism. The way I do it (I am waiting for the OSFM rosters before I start my own Buccos dynasty) is set on 30 team control and check the pending trades and adjust them to make them fair. For example in 13 the Giants were trying to acquire Tyler Colvin but they were offering Kyle Crick which was a massive over payment so I went on here to discuss how to make a fair trade. Use the community they are extremely helpful at putting together fair deals.

Waiting for the OSFM rosters to start a dynasty with the Buccos.

If I can get Volquez to be a productive starter with solid statistics (Think mid 3s ERA for a decent amount of innings) what do you think his value would be. I understand without real stats and standings this is kinda hard but I am just trying to get a few ideas.

Volquez is nothing more than a mid C, even with the stats you mention. Maybe a high C in return if you get lucky and find a desperate taker

thanks for the input. would love to see that trade happen in real life though. and yeah, he did go to south carolina. back in the day both those uniforms looked similar to me.

Playing as the Cubs in Franchise mode until the OFSM rosters come out and I decided to make a couple moves...

Darwin Barney & George Kottaras to Cleveland for Asdrubal Cabrera (moved him to 2B)

and I can't pitch with Travis Wood so I did some searching and the Yanks would trade me Michael Pineda straight up...

both deals would in no way happen in real life....curious what the community thinks...and further to that is there a way to fix the trade logic at all?

                      cheers.

Appreciate the feedback Totte. Idk if this helps the thread any I found a pretty interesting writeup on trade value.

You have to look past the Philly bias and its a little dated but it gives you a decent idea of how trades should be constructed

Pineda for Wood will never happen. Cubs value Wood to much and Yanks still have high hopes for Pineda.

As for Kottaras and Barney for Acab, i dont really know what to think about that one. On one hand it seems kinda logical. The Indians get their backup catcher and can play Santana at third, got an utility infielder and moved Acab so that Lindor can play. But on the other hand, Barney and Kottaras dont have much value.

It's the value I was worried about - Needing to get some more pop in my lineup! I might actually play the franchise out - Loving the dynamic difficulty as well - thanks for the feedback.

Eh. If Barney bounces back and Kottaras is underrated then it's probably break-even.
