MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Anyone have a super utility guy you always trade for or seem to end up with every year?

Edit: Sean Rodriguez is my guy. Some pop, some speed. Can play around the IF and our in LF. Possible to acquire him relatively cheap

Not yet. I'm doing quick counts and fast play but I play every game. So i'm only 17 games in but as of now these are what my stats look for the players that I would ship out.

      Ian Kennedy: 3-0. 27 IP, 18 K/5 BB, 1.33 ERA, 1.00 WHIP

      Josh Johnson: 1-1. 22.2 IP, 31 K/10 BB, 2.78 ERA, 1.01 WHIP

      Eric Stults: 1-0, 18.1 IP, 17 K/1 BB, 0.43 ERA, 0.54 WHIP

      Huston Street: 7/7 saves, 8 IP, 6 Ks, 5 BB, 1.13 ERA, 1.75 WHIP

      Will Venable: .286, 5 HR, 11 RBI, .667 SLG

      Chase Headley: .369, 2 HR, 10 RBI, .554 SLG

      Seth Smith: .320, 3 HR, 6 RBI, .680 SLG

So if these guys can keep it up I'm gonna try to ship some out for some A potential prospects

Jerry Hairston was my guy, usually ended up just getting him randomly at some point in the year. This went all the way back to 2k. He was always serviceable in every way, and it seemed like I could get him for a bag of seeds.

Last few years I have picked up Emilio Bonifacio for my Cubs franchise, so it was pretty cool when Theo picked him up in real life this year.

Been trying to think about some realistic packages for Samardzija for when the PS4 version drops. Anybody have any ideas?

You could ship him to Toronto for something because they need starting help but I have no idea what you should get in return because the only guys I can think of are Stroman and Sanchez who are the top 2 prospects. But I would say it is dependant on how where the Jays are in standings and if Jeff is pitching well that season.

Yeah, Toronto seems like a logical spot. I know they were at least discussing it during the winter, but the Cubs wanted Sanchez and Stroman, which is obviously too much. Sanchez and Norris maybe?

Any decent Third Basemen out there I could use to replace Kelly Johnson on the Yankees? He's hitting under 200 and i'm in late May

Chase Headley is a logical fit

I think Barney for Rasmus is fair. Feels like Atlanta is ready to give Uggla away so don't overpay. Barney would net you Uggla and maybe someone like OF Cunningham from AAA. Terdoslavich would be a nice target along with Uggla as well

Yeah Uggla is also 33 so im kind of weary about that trade.

How about Kelly Johnson for the 2B gig if you move Barney in a package for a CF? He's got 20 HR potential and would come cheap. A bit younger than Uggla as well.

Darwin Barney for Colby Rasmus is absolutely in no way fair whatsoever seeing as Rasmus is probably a 3 win CF and Barney is a 0.5 win 2B and there's really no reason for the Jays to do that

That sounds like a good package, especially because I could probably get Brown quite a few at bats and Hembree could fit in the bullpen right away. Crick is a stud. I was surprised to see how far Brown had fallen down the rankings, didn't he used to be a top 30 prospect? I think the trade makes a lot of sense if SF loses a pitcher to injury, because their 1-5 seems pretty solid.
