I've narrowed it down some. Who would be realistic to get for the Padres out of these names.

    Strop
    Hoover
    Herrera
    Siegrist
    Feliz
    Bastardo

I don't think the Cardinals would have any interest in moving him. Hard throwing lefties don't grow on trees so to speak lol

But relievers in general certainly do

Plus he's the only other lefty reliever on the roster. Randy Choate turns 39 this year, getting up there in age.

                  What do you like better?

Siegrist for Jonathan Galvez + Stults

                  or

Feliz + Moreland for Venable (or Quentin/Denorfia), Maybin (or Quentin/Denorfia), Campos (High C RP) and Stauffer.

I usually would agree with you AC but this time I must respectfully disagree. Siegrist is a young controllable lefty (Who is a former starter and although I think he will remain in the Pen the Cards have converted many a reliever back into starters.) The kid throws Gas but more importantly was nearly a 2 win player as a reliever in a little more than half a season. He also had a low 2 FIP which was inflated slightly by a walk rate that is expected to stabilize with experience (at least according to scouting reports). I understand that bullpen performances can be unsustainable and these players are usually up for grabs on the trade market but he strikes me as a long-term piece and potentially closer (somewhere) if he can harness his already solid control but I feel like as far as realism goes the Cards would probably only part with him as part of a bigger package at this point.

I mean if he is getting rocked around the deadline than he is definitely up for grabs but I believe the OP is trying to find a closer or set up guy for the long term and if he is performing he would definitely have to overpay to acquire him

Please don't take this as an attack, (I saw how that psycho Indians fan was treating you a few pages back and It was appalled), I just think you might be undervaluing him a bit.

Man, I'm too tired to argue and give you the response you deserve. I'll just say that there are a lot of young, controllable, good relievers out there.

What do you think the Cards would want from the Padres for him? Almost everyone is on the table.

Sorry for the double post i havent figured out the multiquote on tapatalk.

Imo he probably would be part of a Headley deal. Not a centerpiece but I see a Headley deal structured as: Centerpiece (High to mid B), High risk high reward player or a low ceiling high floor player (Ramsay depending on what his Potential is) and maybe Siegrist. Dont go just on my word im pretty new to putting together deals

                              Headley for Siegrest + Piscotty?

or what about Stults (LHP) + Galvez (low B 2B).

or even Street + Stults for Siegrest

I like the Headley one the best.

They dont need a 2B prospect, Street, or Stults

I still would wait for someone else to okay the Headley deal but its pretty darn close value wise imo
