Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Slight overpay value wise for you but you're acquiring a young lefty starter with proven MLB experience so that's valuable itself.
Hunter Morris is a nice 1B replacement so he'd have to be included. I guess the Yankees would like Jimmy Nelson over Taylor Jungmann as he's closer to the majors and maybe another arm like Ariel Pena instead of Weeks.
Mitch Moreland and Justin Smoak would be a cheaper options for you. Or sign Kendrys Morales?
So if I gathered this right a better deal for Tex (if I do go for him) might be:
Morris, Nelson, Pena + Weeks (if it would make sense to do it for salary.) for Tex.
On the Miley front I think the Brewers would overpay for a guy like him who could potentially pitch at a #3 maybe borderline #2 level if they could use him as their #5.| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

They really like Brandon Crawford, I don't think they'll want Starlin. How about the Mets?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I definitely will have to think about Smoak, every time I've ever played with the M's in the Show it seems like Smoak plays like Tex-Lite at least in game. The only reason I would add Weeks to the deal for Tex is salary reasons, I know he wouldn't really have an effect on the team if they were willing to trade Tex in the first place.

Agree with you that The Smoak Monster usually plays good in the game. There's sort of a logjam at 1B/DH in Seattle as well making him expendable.
You're right on Morris, Nelson, Pena (and Weeks) for Teixeira. I'd probably add a low C guy coming back from the Yankees as well since you still have to divide everything into two separate deals. Doesn't matter what player, grab someone half decent at a low C that you think fits.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Playing a franchise as the Cubs and got an offer from San Diego. Wisler/Fried for Samardzija. I know Fried is out of the question, and Wisler is an A potential. Would it be realistic to keep Wisler in the package and find a C to package with him? Im looking for either relief pitching or another starter to bring over. Any ideas?Comment

May I suggest putting Hundley in the deal as well to give you a solid backup at C to Castillo?
I think it's fair for the Cubs to be asking for Wisler as a part of the package.Last edited by Totte; 05-04-2014, 10:09 AM.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I cannot wait to start my Pads Franchise here soon, and I really like their team in general, as it is now, and their farm. I'm not a huge fan of some of the contracts they've signed in Maybin, Jedd, and Hundley, but I'll make do.
The only trade I'm debating, as of right now, is one involving the Cardinals and Everth Cabrera. I thought Cabrera would warrant a bit more than a High C, since he's still relatively cheap (contact wise), but like all of my Franchise's...I overrate my players, haha.
But I really think James Ramsey (AA - Cardinals) would be a good fit in Petco. Does this seem like a fair deal (or too much/little) for Cabrera?
I'd really love to get a trade (going) involving Wong or Carlos Martinez, but I don't see that as being too realistic. Plus, Wong isn't a huge need - just like as a player.Last edited by Coper3000; 05-04-2014, 09:22 AM.Comment

To answer your question, yes, I do think that Cabrera for Ramsey is fair. I'd rate them both as low B's.
If you trade for Wong, you'd have to include Headley. Matter of fact, in our spreadsheet, their values pretty much makes a perfect fit.
Moving Wong would allow the Cards to play Carpenter at 2B and Headley at 3B. I'm assuming you'd want to play Gyorko at 3B and Wong at 2B?
To expand the deal a bit...Headley and Cabrera for Wong, Ramsey and a lesser arm like Seth Maness? (Imagine the Cards lineup after a deal like that!)Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
