Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on a Chris Carter to Pittsburgh trade.
I was hoping to get either Hanson or Glasnow, but I felt you guys were right. That's too much for a win-now power bat that strikes out a lot.
I did Nick Kingham + Adalberto Santos for Carter.
Santos will probably never go anywhere in my organization.
Next on the list is Jesse Crain.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I noticed on the spreadsheet that Greg Holland was listed as "Unrealistic – The team thinks highly of him". While this is true for 2014, there is a possibility of him being traded in the off-season following the 2014 season.
So, while it's not realistic for him to be dealt this year (as long as the Royals are in contention), if you want to go after him after the 2014 season in your franchise that would be realistic imo."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

That's so much haha... but you're entirely right that's what it'd take for Stanton. I'm wondering if it's worth it.. Pederson was the only regular from the major league level and can't really deny that Stanton is an upgrade. Such talent to give up... but for a top 5/10 position player I think it might be worth it anyway.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Yes, I'm aware that it's "just a guide". I was just letting some people know that Holland could be available in case they don't follow the Royals that closely, which not many people do.
Even if it is "just a guide", the words "Unrealistic trade target" next to a players name tend to scare a lot of people off.Last edited by BA2929; 05-13-2014, 07:22 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Haha I know... That'd be a ton of talent to give up... but I keep imagining my lineup with Stanton in it and how fun that would be.... so tempting.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Mets franchise. It's still May but I'm pretty much out of contention already. Seattle is leading their division by a couple games.
Ike Davis/Lucas Duda and Chris Young (having a great year hitting over .320 with 10 hrs and I'm only in May) for Franklin and Pryor? Young would step in as everyday CF for them and Davis or Duda could serve as either a DH or power bat off the bench for postseason play.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I'm starting a franchise with the Mariners (2013, OSFM final), and am looking to get some sabrmetric friendly hitters, Colby Rasmus is a target, what would I give up for him? Also looking for some generally good hitters that have good splits.Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #BryantwatchComment

Anyone could be had for the right price but there are some players that are more realistic acquisitions and Holland is not one of them as long as the Royals think they can contend.Comment
