[quote=AC;2046283430]Take whichever package you want. Blue Jays and Red Sox both make that deal.

The Jays' package is better, though.

You think so? I like both packages.. I'm just worried they might want someone a little cheaper like Samardzija. Shields is probably off limits since they Royals are leading the division in my franchise. I guess I just thought they'd rather have Samardzija than taking on a bunch of Hamels contract.

Funny, these cpu proposed deals are very similar to deals that I had came up with for Cliff Lee..

      To Boston w/ Mayberry for:

      Owens, Swihart, Middlebrooks

      and to the Jays for:

      Strohman, Nay & Davis

I think given the option, either club would take Hamels/Lee over Samardzija. They're more consistent and each has substantial post season experience.

        Rays Franchise

I am looking for a catcher. I cannot get anything done with Ryan Hanigan. I was looking at maybe trying to get Jason Castro from the Astros or maybe even A,J. Ellis from the Dodgers. Who could/should I give up for either one of them? I would like to include Hanigan in the deal if possible. Thanks

I just wanted to say thanks for those that are active on this topic, and respond and give advice. I cant do a trade unless I ask here first unless its a simple trade no big names or high prospects etc. I know a good amount but not as much as those that frequent this topic.

Its June 8th in my franchise,, be back soon for trade advice.

Mattingly has been fired, and trading Kemp now ensures LA the ability to keep Hanley if that was ever in doubt. They still have the rest of their outfield in tact, with Pederson apparently ready to make the jump.

Lawrie is a huge upgrade over the 100 year old Juan Uribe. Still just 25, Lawrie has a a few years of team control left since I had signed him to a 3 year extension on the cheap. Regarding the pitcher, I just wanted to make sure I kick them an A prospect.

I'm certainly willing to give up some more, just figured I would let you know my thoughts.
The Dodgers for the most part would still have a playoff team. Trading away one of their top hitters for Lawrie and a young SP doesn't make a huge amount of sense. Even at 30, Kemp is a much better hitter than Lawrie. Plus they have Seager so Lawrie is kind of pointless to have for the future.

The Dodgers OF is set. Pederson, Puig + some fill in. AGon is locked at 1B, Handley, Gordon and Guerrero lock up the middle infield at Seager is the future at 3B.

For Kemp I would trade a more established, veteran player like Jose Reyes. That gives them the option of moving Hanley to 3B for 3 or 4 years until Seager is ready and by that time Hanley and or Reyes should be close to ready to move on.

The problem with Lawrie is that in 3 or 4 years he would still be just 28/29 and would block Seager and Kemp hits better than Lawrie so they lose on the future and the win now. With Reyes they get a equal or close to equal hitter trade and don't entirely block Seager.

Before I answer your question, I'll throw out four really cheap names: Chris Iannetta, John Buck, Martin Maldonado and JP Arencibia. My thinking here is that you could get either one of these guys for some spare change and do a separate deal where you send Hanigan packing for another need/prospect.

Freestylin' on the values as I don't have the cheat up and running.

Castro to Tampa for Hanigan and Guerreri. Or for Hanigan, Boxberger and Colome.

Hanigan for Ellis straight up works pretty well. I think the Dodgers would like to keep Ellis around though even if they were to acquire another catcher to have a platoon situation (unless it's a stud catcher of course)

My understanding was that Lawrie would play 2B in LA so he won't block Seager in a few years. He'll block Gordon/Guerrero though but they can both handle SS so moving Hanley to 3B would create playing time for them

Also, again, the Blue Jays aren't trading a young above average 3B for a broken down OF on a contract worth a gazillion dollars to play on turf that will injure him even more when they have a full OF.

                  Makes no sense.

I just had Mark Trumbo go down for at least 3 weeks in my franchise. He tried to dive to catch a ball in left field and missed. The ball ended up smacking in the head, while he was mid flight. I saved the replay to upload later.

So now I need to move some players. Besides Trumbo and Cody Ross, my outfield has weak production. I need other player in the outfield to help while trumbo is gone, and i can afford to get rid of pitchers. I am about to call up Archie Bradley, to MLB so cant wait for that.

The Whitesox are getting a good year from Dayan Viciedo and they need other pitcher. So i am looking to give them a pitcher, and they still got Viciedo to replace De Aza. Simple 1 for 1 trade.

                    White Sox Get

                    SP Daniel Hudson

                    Diamond Backs Get

                    LF Alejandro De Aza

I nabbed Conger from the Angels. Switch-hitter with a little pop and solid D. You can pretty much get him for a used jock-strap and a bucket of balls.

I had the same problem with Hanigan. I couldn't work a deal out for Jason Castro. The only players the Astros would accept for him were either Wil Myers or Matt Moore and I wasn't moving either of them. I ended up sending Hanigan back to the Reds for Brayan Pena. Jose Molina has been decent for me so he and Pena see equal playing time.

I also sent Tim Beckham to the Dodgers for Andre Ethier. Ethier plays LF and I am platooning Desmond Jennings and David DeJesus in CF. Jennings average vs. righties for me is horrendous.

I can't hit with Molina either. I like the Andre Ethier Idea (Although in real life he's now a CF) playing LF. If you had issues getting Castro then I'll try for a different catcher. Someone Mention Hank Conger, Chris Iannetta is an option. If I can trade Hanigan straight up for A.J. Ellis I might just do that. Still early in my franchise, but I couldn't hit with Hanigan in Spring Training or to start the season.

Pretty sure you can do Hanigan for Conger straight up. I almost did that, but I liked Pena better.

                                MIL Receives:
                                JR Graham/Cody Martin (ATL)?

                                ATL Receives:
                                Rickie Weeks (MIL)

ATL desperately needs to replace Uggla. MIL can afford to trade away Weeks. MIL desperately needs a 1B with their current one batting a downright uggla .155 through ~250 AB. (You see what I did there? A play on words.)

I thought of a followup trade for MIL, trading for either Texeira or Ike Davis. Yankees are in sell mode and I could see them giving up Tex and eating the bulk of his contract to make a deal happen. But I'm not sure if this is contrary to popular opinion/reason?

                                Or perhaps something like:

                                MIL Receives:
                                Ike Davis

                                ATL Receives:
                                Rickie Weeks

                                NYM Receives:
B grade ish prospect from ATL?

What do you guys think? I'm running a ton of trade scenarios- gonna be a huge July in my chise
