Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
[QUOTE=dpower15;2046293495]
Another option I suppose could be keeping Gindl in LF, and moving either Aramis or Headley to 1B since Reynolds is on 60 day DL and Overbay is their starter there right now. Would that be more logical? I'm guessing Aramis would be the better move to 1B as Headley is a former gold glove winner/QUOTE]
I'd probably keep Headley at 3B and have A-Ram move to 1B like you suggestedFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Playing as the orioles, what would be my best option in terms of moving JJ Hardy? Im honestly not looking for a lot, maybe some relief pitching. I would love to somehow get Dominic Leone from Seattle even if it involved a 3 team deal and moving Tommy Hunter. Not really looking for anything realistic, just fair.Comment

The earlier deal you suggested with Hardy to the Pirates looked fair and realistic. Give Hardy and Patton to get Leone back?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Works for me. See any way outside of Bundy/Machado to get Kris Bryant over to my team? Or am I just beginning to reach there?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That's a reach. Not possible if you ask me.
And the Hardy/Patton for Leone swap is not something I consider realistic with Franklin/Miller already in Seattle but you asked for fair and I think that's coolFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I was thinking the same thing about seattle...thats why I threw in possibly something involving a 3rd team.
Seattle Gets: Josh Hart (19, B Pot), E. Rodriguez (20, B Pot)
Baltimore Gets: Dominic Leone (22, B Pot), Bruce Rondon (23 B Pot)
Tigers Get: JJ Hardy (31, B Pot)
Hows that? Tweak as you see fit, but something along those lines I would be fine with.Last edited by NothingTrivial; 06-07-2014, 06:42 AM.Comment

Could the Pirates act as the third team instead of the Tigers?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my Padres Franchise I recently had my sights on an offseason trade that would bring WMB + Workman from the Red Sox, to San Diego.
I am still wanting to acquire WMB, but no longer have my sights on Workman, as he was inserted into the rotation a few weeks back and has been dominant since.
Here's who I am looking at now:
Will Middlebrooks - 3B
Felix Doubront - SP (Maybe, if Red Sox fans think it's realistic? He's not a huge want, just need him to eat innings.)
-
Plus, maybe one of these:
Brian Johnson - SP (he might be too valuable)
Miguel Pena - SP
Mike Augliera - SP
Pat Light - SP
-
Instead of one of the four guys above, I'd really like to snag Matt Barnes, but I'm not sure it's realistic (even if he isn't playing up to par IRL and my Franchise).
Any thoughts on this? Not sure who on my team who is a good fit for the Red Sox? Maybe Street to close (if Uehara retires) or Tyson Ross, who could be a nice 4/5 for the Sox (+ other pieces)? Any other ideas?
Basically, I'm looking at this:
A.) WMB + Barnes for ?
B.) WMB + Doubront + (one of four guys listed above) for ?
I'd like to complete trade A above, with B as a fallback. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a trade, and I can't! So any help is appreciated.

I'm short on time so I can't go deep into talks at the moment. Doubront is definitely available. So are Johnson, Pena, Augliera and Light. Matt Barnes is only available in a package for a stud like CarGo or Stanton.
I'd focus on your B alternative.
Tyson Ross is probably nothing more than a no 5 for Boston but provides value from the rotation and the pen.
Unless Street is in his walk year, he'd be an interesting fitFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
For the record I was the one that proposed the earlier Hardy to the Buccos swap lol. Which I want to edit since I dont want Cumpton and Wilson just sitting in AAA as my roster is pretty full.
Bucs get:
Hardy
O's get:
Nick Kingham
Maybe another small piece
If this isn't liked I will just go back to the old dealComment

Oops my bad. Kudos for it being such a good deal that I remembered it
If Hardy's on pace for his usual 25HR season and the Pirates are in contention with a sucky Mercer starting at SS, then maybe they'd offer up Kingham. If not, Kingham's too much for a rental like Hardy.
Compton/Locke + Wilson for Hardy?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Does this seem fair/unbalanced:
SD Receives:
Middlebrooks - 3B
Doubront - SP
B. Johnson - SP
BOS Receives:
Street - CL
Ross - SP/RP
How does this look? Should I add anything on my SD side, as far as a prospect, or sub Ross for someone else? It always feels like I'm not giving the CPU enough (no matter the trade). Also, Ross is pitching really well in the mid-rotation spot in SD, so it's not like they're getting a complete bum, and like you said, he could eat some innings in relief if need be.Last edited by Coper3000; 06-07-2014, 10:36 AM.Comment
