Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
****ty cheap scrubs:
Zach McAllister
Eric Stults
Kyle Kendrick
Decent affordable guys playing badly:
R.A. Dickey
Marco Estrada
Chris Tillman
Travis Wood
Good guys who won't cost much but have high salaries:
Edwin Jackson
Charlie Morton
I'd be looking at guys like that to make up your pitching staff and trading your pitching "prospects" (TNSTAAPP) for young hitters.
So far it has been, hasn't been, and is kinda your reasoning. I just disagree with your valuation in general, but here I'm just kinda trying to help you not talk yourself into a million different directions, all of which are mutually exclusive.Last edited by AC; 07-16-2014, 06:25 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Well now it's been pointed out that I should think before I post. But anyway, my general idea is that he is a top prospect, was before the season, and is now. I was using his stock rise as one of my reason. I said that with the interpretation of it not being just limited to the stock rise. It is one reason, but not the whole reason.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Anywho, I feel like Glasnow's probably Kyle Crick on a different team with worse stuff but maybe better control. Similar HR limiting abilities, similar K's per 9, but Crick is walking more. They're actually pretty solid comparables. Although Crick is in AA and Glasnow in A+ so Crick is more valuable. Crick is a Mid B and Low B. I'd probably bump that up a bit to a high B and then have Glasnow as a Mid B, Low B, high C."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Just make sure form a singular opinion and stick with it. lol

I like that, as Pittsburgh will get 2 B prospects, in addition of a High C. This is a case of quantity over quality, but that's what baseball is sometimes.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

I feel that both Crick and Glasnow are high B at minimum for their first value. I'd actually like to see each one a low A with no secondary values, but that's just my take (which of course is correct tho).Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

WTNY, we probably value their talent exactly the same as each other. I just apply a fair significant discount to pitching prospects because pitchers. Arm explosions. Boom."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Has anyone been able to get the A's to take the real life trade of giving straily and russell for shark and hammel? If so what 3rd player did you throw in for the cubs to make it happen? Im in 2014 of a chise and trying to get it done.Comment

Lower Russell's potential to like 30 and they will accept. Then after you get him just fix his potential to where it was.
Also like the above post 30 team control helps out a lot too

Thanks Ill lower the potential. I hate 30 team control lol, I barely have time to run one organization.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You only have to run your team. It's a combination of a few settings that let you control your own team, while the CPU controls theirs. I don't want to clog the thread, so I recommend looking into it on the forums somewhere if your interested.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
This was my first year to do 30 team control and I have given up a few times because it was time consuming but every bad trade I saw when I was controlling just one team persuaded me to try one more time and I am now getting used to it. Takes some time though

From MLBTR:
Latest On Astros, Brady Aiken
By Steve Adams [July 15, 2014 at 6:35pm CDT]
JULY 15, 6:35pm: The concern regarding Aiken involves his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), a source tells Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle. “He may have some [of the ligament], but not much,” the source said, apparently referring to the natural size — rather than any tearing — of Aiken’s UCL. A hypothetical Tommy John procedure would not be a straightforward solution in Aiken’s case, the source adds.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
