Giving up legitimately any player for just Alex Rodriguez is a potentially franchise crippling move imo. Like, you'd probably have to give me a 3-4 win player back with him. So like, A-Rod + Gardner + Cash for nothing. For your backup catcher's backup catcher's backup.

    So yeah, I don't like A-Rod's value.

He is only a stop gap for me at the moment as we are in the middle of making a decent run early in the season. One the the players I got was Dellin Betances who looks like he could really be worth the risk of A Rod being in the package. I really feel like in a season or two it will be known as the "Betances Trade" more than the ARod Trade.

But I would think something like E-Ram or B. Maurer plus Taylor and Smoak is fair via the spreadsheet. If you didn't want to give up Smoak, you could do Ackley instead. Or if you wanted it to be a 2 for 1 deal, Paxton and Taylor would probably work or maybe something like Sanchez or Pike plus Taylor and a High C prospect like Jesus Montero (he could take Butler spot at 1B or DH)

I gave up on trying to acquire a southpaw and will just call up Paxton. I'll only actively seek one if one these guys goes down or struggles. My rotation is in this order: Felix (99 ovr), Iwakuma(91 ovr), Paxton (77 ovr), Walker (85 ovr), and Elias (69 ovr)= two southpaws and 3 righties. I'm going to use your system of playing games to make a season go faster (might make a dynasty also)... I have only 2 southpaws in the pen/. I love lefties

I want to keep Pike cause he's a southpaw.. so you agree with this? :

          Taylor (ss) - 75 ovr- B pot
          Montero (1B)- 65 ovr- B pot
Mauer (SP)- 73 ovr B pot

          for
          Butler (1B)- 82 ovr-A pot

Well based off value via the spreadsheet 3 B's is enough to get Butler, but problem is one of those needs to be a high B and Taylor isn't quite there yet. Maybe another SP like Gohara or Fernandez or a OF guy like Morban or Blash.

What's your plan with Smoak. You might include him and maybe ask for OF J. Dyson back which would give you another nice speedy option for CF if Jones doesn't pan out.

I am surprised that you don't have C. Young in the rotation. He is pitching well in real life and in my franchise I just finished August and he is currently 16-5 with a ERA in the low 3's.

Hey guys just got the Show and wanted to start a franchise with the Mets. I wanted to shake up the team with two huge trades to add life to the line up. I targeted two weak spots in corner OF and SS. The guys I decided to go after were Giancarlo Stanton(costs a ton) and Javier Baez( surplus of SS for Cubs). These are two big time talents and want to make the trade compensation as close to equal as I can. These are the two offers I made. Stanton for Wheeler, Niese, and Dom Smith(top prospect). And Baez for Syndergaard(top prospect), Nimmo, and Parnell. Want to make the trades as fair as possible and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was going to start Young as he has decent enough atts (he's a mid 70s ovr player), but elected to go with the younger rotation. He definitely would be a starter over 69 ovr Elias if only he was a south paw. I'll probably end up trading him (young) once the injuries start to mount or might make him a spot starter and send someone on the pen down. not sure yet.

Smoak is a 74 ovr and has A pot on my roster, but his hot zones are really weak. I was just going to have him share time at 1st with Butler (if I get him) or let him stay at 1st and DH Butler. Im willing to give Smoak in a trade for Butler if it comes down to it. But I would hate to lose Smoak cause he's a switch hitter. But I do have Hart to DH/ 1B so I suppose Smoak isn't a necessity.

so Sanchez (77 ovr B) and Mauer (73 ovr B) then give them Gutierrez lol (80 ovr A pot)?
That way they get two solid SPs that could turn into absolute studs and a gold glove OFer. Sanchez is so young too... under 20. He's definitely gonna be special in this chise. Does that sound fair? Blash is a 67 ovr with C pot and Morban is 63 ovr b pot. Im willing to swap Gutierrez for another prospect like Morban or Gohara 59 ovr B pot.

I love Almonte and Ackley even though their ratings are low to mid 70s. I really want Almonte in CF for the playing time. Those two and obviously Felix are off limits in trade talks. I think Im going to see what I have in the OF before I touch it.

Are you planning on making the real life trades as well? Because if the Cubs don't have Russell then there is no way they trade Baez, and even then, as you will see from many pages in this thread, Cub fans like myself don't see Baez going anywhere. Plus in this trade I don't see their need for Nimmo. I would think Synderguard, Parnell and someone like Montero or Plawecki would be a better 2nd prospect to include.

                        IRL? Yea that's about right.

Do you guys think a .290/1/32 Ben Revere could be realistically had for the Red Sox? It's July 22 in-game (keeping real-life pace), and the Phils are out of it. I need a serious left-handed bat, as Gomes isn't cutting it against righties.

They've started playing Baez at 2B in AAA. There are thoughts that he may be called up and Alcantara will take over CF.

My guess is something like that, then if Russell proves to be the real deal, Castro will be moved as part of a package for a true #1 SP.

Baez trade is ok for fairness, but replace Parnell with a second tier SP prospect.

Stanton deal needs more from the Mets. Quantity and quality.

I doubt it. Revere is arb eligible thru 2017. Don't see the point for them.

Aside from that, this may be the first and last time that Ben Revere is ever referred to as a "serious left-handed bat" lol

Is it just me or are there a bunch of Yankees and Mets fans asking about Baez? Does he have some incredible street creed in New Yawk? Or are people just crying in their video game over a Yankee team without Jeter/Cano?
