Considering Stanton since the Marlins could be sellers in real life even if the GM says no.

Would it take some combo of Correa, Profar, Altuve, Cosart and Springer?

I'd most like to dump Altuve (righty bat) but would the Astros package him without the city revolting?

Way too much being given up. You could do Correa/Springer straight up and that would be too much. Correa and Springer are High As, so that's why. Question, how did you get Profar?

Altuve and Springer should be the two you deal. Profar can be shifted to 2nd once you bring up Correa.

In all honesty, I grabbed Profar before I started following the blog. I gave up some prospects that the Rangers accepted (not doing 30 team control) for who knows what reason.

I'd hate to give up Springer in the deal because I'm needing a 3rd outfielder. LJ, Grossman, and Presley have much to be desired.

I'm thinking some combo of those outside of Profar and Springer. Can move Villar up to finished the year at SS.

Springer is a high B not high A

They wouldn't revolt if they were getting Stanton back. He'd likely hit 60HRs a season in that band box of a stadium.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I am 2 weeks from the trade deadline in my Mariners Franchise and I am looking at making some deals for the CPU teams who are still in the race.

Boston is the first team I would like to help. They are 7.5 games back of the Blue Jays in the East but are leading the AL Wildcard by 1 game over the Orioles

One area in which they could really use some help is the OF and SS S. Drew is currently hitting .222 with 4 HR 18 RBI and X. Bogarets is hitting .226 with 4 HR and 9 RBI.

I went ahead and recalled B. Holt from AAA (not sure how he ended up back there)

But I was thinking about maybe a deal with either Chicago teams.

              The Cubs currently have

              OF R/R J. Ruggiano (73/C)
"Hitting .255, but .308 vs LHP, with 7 HR 30 RBI and has 12 SB's"

              OF L/L R. Sweeney (67/D)
"Hitting .244 with 6 HR and 20 RBI"

              OF L/R N. Schierholtz (76/C)
              "Hitting .266 with 10 HR's and 38 RBI"

              Well the Whitesox have

              OF L/L A. De Aza (78/C)
              "Hitting .289 with 9 HR 38 RBI and 16 SB's

              OF R/R D. Viciedo (77/B)
"Hitting .192 with 10 HR and 26 RBI, can also play 1B and 3B?"

              SS R/R A. Ramirez (84/B)
"Made the All-Star team but is hitting just .244 with 4 HR and 32 RBI"

Any thoughts on who I should deal for and what should I have them give up?

Whoa what roster set are you using or what year are you in? I am an Astros fan and a now George Springer Fan (ROY!!!) but I am going to have to disagree with you on that one. Too many strikeouts and not enough contact to be a high A. If he hits .250 in a season that would be great. His power, speed and fielding will make him really good though.

Allow me to strike a compromise. Springer has a 92 POT in the Hybrid roster set (a low A). Seems fair considering high A is too high and high B is too low.

Ruggiano to Boston for LHP Cody Kukuk (54/C) + RHP Miguel Celestino (51/C). Or similar.

OSFM with some personal edits. I didn't make him a High A, I don't remember editing him. But I think a consistent wRC+ over 170 is worth at least a mid A. Even in the MLB it's at 126, that's just great, especially when his BABIP suggests not really any regression to come in the future.

I agree, but he's only been in the league for 2 or so months. I'm not saying he's going to be bad or anything, just that the strikeouts and hitting for contact could be a little bit of a problem.

325 PA is a large enough sample size.

On his K rate, well he could be Chris Carter circa 2013.

In my 30 control franchise the Red Sox keep targeting Bourn from the Indians. The Red Sox are #1 in the majors by a couple of games but are slumping lately. The Indians are out of contention. The closest fair offer by the CPU is Trey Ball for Bourn. However, I'm stingy with prospects and wouldn't make that deal so wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the deal so I can quit rejecting Boston's CPU trades. Also, Bourns numbers are down from last year. At the all star breaks he's batting .241 3 hrs and 14 RBIs. Another big reason why Ball is too much in my opinion
