Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ok so first off I realize stuff like this can be avoided with 30 team control but I don't like the idea of making trades for the CPU teams.

Anyways I am using Knight's OSFM v2 rosters and am midway through the 1st year of my Franchise and the Twins who have there trade strategy set to rebuilding decided it would be a good idea to trade BOTH Buxton and Sano to the Dbacks for SP Brandon McCarthy RP David Hernandez and 3B Jack Lamb (age 23 b potential)

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I am going to wait until any real trades are made but if by chance Lester/Miller & Uehara are not traded what kind of package would I be looking at if I trade them to the Dodgers.

Under my trade I WOULD have a stipulation that all three would resign in hopes of a better deal.

I was also looking at possibly adding Lackey/Middlebrooks as part of the deal also if it would net a better package.

You're going for Lester + Koji with a contract extension guarantee?

That's Pederson + a couple damn good pieces, which the Dodgers don't want to give up. Can't see them giving a negotiating window.

I wanted to pulled the trigger, but I saw that Kemp was out for 1 to 2 months. It didn't make any sense to take Either from them. I would have had a crowded OF...

The interesting part of this matter. I have never been offered a trade in all of my 8yrs of playing the Show...
I wouldn't part with any one of those 3 prospects just to get Ethier. Peraza and Sims are very valuable and Graham is less so, but still an overpay. The cpu is trying to fleece you here. Withrow doesn't really move the needle that much.

I'd part with Graham for him. Neither of the other two though.

Dodgers 3.5 back of Rockies for the division, 1 game lead in WC.

Mets are way out of it.

CPU offered trade of Urias and RP Perez 6-3, 3.23 era for David Wright who's .260/.340/.446 with 10 hr 26rbi about 6 or so days before the break.
Uribe is holding 3rd for the dodgers but giving them nothing on offense or defense .230/.292/.375 along with 5 errors.
Is this something that could happen. Seems like the Mets could prob get a bit more for Wright maybe or I'm just not giving enough value to Urias.

I think he is going to retire a Met honestly. He's like the Derek Jeter of the Mets pretty much

I can see both but it depends on what the Dodgers would be willing to give up. Mets would ask for two of Pederson/Urias/Seager. I dunno if the Dodgers would do that.

Also I am give up Jonathan Villar who hasn't hit very well but has played some sold defense for me, he is 24 with a low B potential. A lot of my good prospects are pitchers and one I don't mind giving up is a 19 year old low A potential asap, with a 55 Ovr. Low overall but he is still 19 and has time to develop.
Is Peralta still at shortstop with relatively low overall? Has Kolten Wong developed into anything? Whichever position 2B or SS is weaker pick that prospect.

So if the Cards are weakest at 2B
Tony Kemp+ low ovr A pitcher+ a bullpen arm to impact the big league team right away.

If Matt Carpenter is still around you could also do
3B Prospect+ low ovr A pitcher + bullpen arm and shift Carpenter back to 2B

Just a note, I don't actually think Craig is worth an A, but I view an A potential low overall in game as a high upside high bust % type player who probably wouldn't actually be viewed as an A if he was a real prospect.

They are weakest at SS as Kolten Wong is mid 70s and still progressing, and Matt Carpenter is doing very well at 3B.
                          My trade would look like:
Nolan Fontana (low B) + Low A pot pitcher + relief arm for Allen Craig. Maybe young 74-75 Ovr RP? I have a few around that rating

Would the 74-75 RP make it into the big league bullpen for St. Louis or at least be the next best option?

Even if not, the trade should work, but they'd probably prefer an impact reliever over someone who ends up adding relief depth in Memphis.

Overall, though, I like the deal, because Craig doesn't seem to be impacting the major league club anymore and trading him frees up salary while adding depth at a position of need and adding a high upside arm.

I'll give them one of my better, younger relievers. I only have 1 RP rated in the 80s so I will see what I can do.
                              Thanks for the help!

Yeah we aren't trading him. He's our captain and will most likely retire a as a Met. Also if the mets traded him they would lose there fan base. Trust me
