I am in mid-May and I'm considering trading for Josh Willingham in my Phillies franchise. He is batting .310 with 15 home runs and over 30 RBI so far for the Twins who are in last place in the NL Central and 9 games out.

I am currently 20-22 with the Phillies and in 4th place in the NL East 7 games out. I need outfield help badly. I demoted Ben Revere to Triple-A as he was doing nothing for me. Low .200's average and only 3 RBI. I've been using a center field platoon of Tony Gywnn Jr. and John Mayberry Jr. Domonic Brown and Marlon Byrd also haven't been that great for me average wise. My plan would be to acquire Willingham to play right field and shift Marlon Byrd to CF. I know it won't take much of anything to acquire Willingham which is why I am considering it. If the team ends up being really out of it by July then I can always flip him somewhere else.

I would like to trade Phillippe Aumont for him. Twins would accept it too. One-for-one swap. I have no plans to ever use Aumont so it's a win for me.

I feel like 1 more big prospect should be in there.. just a gut feeling though.

I think Kuroda is unrealistic for the Mariners. We already have a beast rotation with King Felix, Iwakuma, Walker, Paxton, and Elias. Maybe, just maybe Kuroda could supplant Elias as the 5th starter, either that or take up long relief duty. M's would definitely not trade 2 promissing prospects for an aging SP. When that is the strength of the organization.

You're reading it wrong, it was an either/or for Kuroda. The Mariners were suggested, and I was throwing out some trade ideas. Didn't say it was realistic, but fair.

I agree though with you though, I don't see them trading for Kuroda, even though I think he would be better than Elias.

Starting up a Giants 'chise and first order of business before Spring Training will be to unload the aging Marco Scutaro (2 High C's) and his remaining 2-years on the deal. Need help brainstorming around a possible return.

I'd like to get a young MI or SP in return. Preferably someone that can step in and handle AAA right away.

Potential landing spots for Scutaro based on need.

Atlanta - get Pastornicky in return? Maybe a low end SP prospect as well
Baltimore - get Steve Johnson and something else in return
NY Mets - move Scutaro to SS? No idea on a return package
NY Yankees - No idea on a return package? Jose Campos+ ?
Oakland - move Lowrie to SS and play Scutaro at SS. Love their young arm. Josh Lindblom+ an IF prospect?
Pittsburgh - move Scutaro to SS? Get Jeff Locke/Brandon Cumpton + something else minor in return?
Toronto - dreaming of getting Sean Nolin back. Would that work? If not, I'll take on Kyle Drabek as a project along with aniother piece.

The players listed above are just my initial thoughts. Would love some more suggestions on guys to target. Could add an established bullpen arm to the deal along with Scutaro if it's required to get something done.

Don't think Tejada is worth more than Scutaro. It would be Tejada+ for him I'd think.

You think I'd have to take Uggla back in the deal? Could I do Terdoslavich + Pastornicky? Terdoslavich would add some nice 3B depth for me if the Panda lands on the DL.

I think the Mets would be more interested in shoring up their pen with an arm like Santiago Casilla along with Scutaro than getting Arias/Hicks back. You don't think they'd prefer to sit on Tejada and have him around as a backup SS/2B rather than sending him my way?

You really think the rebuilding White Sox would make a move for Scutaro? This is before the serason has started so we don't know if they're contenders yet. I do like the names you're throwing out there in E-Jo and Rienzo.

If you take back Uggla you could probably sneak a mid B back with him for assuming the contract. Maybe Scutaro+ for Lucas Sims + Uggla.

I could be wrong but I think Uggla's contract is for 2 years around 2-3 million/year in the game just like Scutaro's. I'll have to double check that but it's an interesting thought. Sims is the Braves no 1 prospect according to BA though but maybe David Hale/Sean Gilmartin instead?

White Sox...I think the White Sox thought they had a chance at contending around OD. Obviously most people would not agree after 99 losses in 2013, but they did not exactly field a team of prospects either. With Konerko, Dunn, Alexei, Viciedo, a big money deal for Abreu and a Cy Young contender in Sale, adding Scutaro to supplant Beckham or even play third in a platoon with Gillaspie make sense. The White Sox have been masters of the pseudo-rebuild/contend for 15 years now.

Blue Jays...maybe wait for AC's thoughts on that. 2B seems to be Toronto's biggest positional hole and they are in 1st IRL so adding a guy like Scutaro would make sense. Nolin is a low B and Scutaro is high C + high C, so they seem roughly equivalent having no stats to go on.

Keep in mind Scutaro's age & contract. The Mets wouldn't look to get older unless they got a semi young piece back, nothing major. Tejada is losing favor in NY, I don't expect him there much longer. He's on the Eduardo Nunez path lol (Not comparing the 2 as players, just comparing Tejada's situation to Nunez's when he was with NYY)

Yeah, that would only work if Uggla's contract was as uggla as it is in real life! Sims is probably a bit of a stretch although #1 in ATL's system doesn't mean a ton these days. Graham + Pastornicky should be achievable.
