Do any of you guys make trades for two CPU-controlled teams around the trade deadline? I'd like to do this to move some big-name players from sellers to contenders.

In my 2014 Mariners franchise sitting at 43-43 only 3.5 game's back near the ASB and want to add a young-ish star caliber hitter to my team not just a season rental or player on his last leg.

Any ideas? I know Stanton is off limits but was thinking about Brewers (out of it -14 games back) C. Gomez CF (what would it take? Possible without giving up Walker?) Maybe a package deal including Gallardo

Gomez is under a somewhat team friendly extension so it's not realistic for him to be moved. You interested in Braun? I hear those PED's have made his skin look really young

Other names: Mark Trumbo. Dom Brown. Will Venable.

Or by all means, go for Gomez if you're only worried about it being fair. Some guys here roll with realism and fairness, some just fair

Yeah Braun is not my kinda guy and I'm 60% fairness 40% realism... none mentioned stir anything for me. I appreciate your help and advice

So though April in my LAD chise and want to start thinking about making some changes. Uribe is hurt for 2months so I have Ramirez at 3rd, A. Guerrero at SS and Dee Gordon at 2nd. Guerrero is killing it. Real weakness is Gordon batting .220 and AJ Ellis Batting .197.

My trade targets are :

Headley- to move Gordon out of the lineup love his speed though

or

Mauer- to get Ellis out of the lineup plus have a 2nd guy to plug in at 1st to give Gonzo the day off occasionally

Any ideas on good trade options?

It's still May for you I guess and numbers don't mean a whole lot this early. Still, how's Mauer and Headley doing?

Headley could realistically be had but Mauer's locked in tight with the Twinkies.

Headley is playing decent but the Padres aren't that far back. The Twins on the other hand are dropping like flys but mauer is playing good. Do you think he is completely off limits? Or just an overpay kinda situation? Cause Mauer would be my preferred target if it can be done.

I usually take the day before the deadline and make 5-7 trades around the league for teams in contention.

I don't see Mauer going anywhere realistically, no matter how bad the Twins are. They have one of the best systems in the game, so it's not like they have to move him to get organizational depth.

If realism isn't your thing, then you could definitely make a deal for Mauer.

It would take Urias + Seager/Pederson + Lee to get Mauer, maybe more or all of them.

However, Headley could probably be had for Lee + Reed/Anderson + a throw in if he's playing decently. He's a free agent at the end of the year, and I don't see the Padres re-singing him. So, I think he moves regardless

So it seems Headley is the way to go. Any suggestions catcher wise on top of the Headley deal. Ellis is horrible. And he has played like junk behind the plate too. I would like to keep Dee Gordon (not sure why lol)

Go with Grandal from the Padres while you're at it. He could probably start 5 times a week for you. Or opt for Hundley as a throw in and have him share the duties with Ellis. Hundley's a really cheap option

I'd like to add Chris Iannetta to the mix as well. He's the odd man out in OC now when Conger's progressed and come closer to his potential. You could probably get Iannetta for a back of the rotation guy like Maholm

Don't know about the Headley + Grandal tade. Spreadsheet says Mid B x 4 + a high C. So you might want to throw in another guy.

All depends on Headley's stats, honestly.
