Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I am thinking grandal is the way too go. he can fill the void for a while I believe. Don't want to sell the farm but its prolly the way to go. All I know is I need some pop. I have been struggling to plate runs cause of the rally killers in the lineup. Luckily the pitching has been pretty lights out. team era of 2.37 through april. Of course I haven't played any big scoring teams yet but still. Haren at a sub 1 ERA though 5 starts ha

I want to do a sim franchise where I rebuild the Yankees into a draft and develop team, rather than an overpay old already overpriced vets and hope you win with them team.

With this in mind, my questions are geared toward fairness.

Which of these players would you move if you could, and what might be some plausible landing spots?

      Sabathia
      Kuroda
      McCann
      Teixiera
      Beltran
      Soriano

I'm thinking of this as a 2-3 year process, and I'll likely hold onto 1-2 contracts (like Jacoby's) for at least two years. I will simply cut A-Rod and eat the salary, as I know nobody wants him.

Honestly, you'd get nothing more than middling minor leaguers for those guys with the exception of McCann.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured, but I'm also thinking that grabbing some middling MILB players in exchange for a couple of those guys would be worth the sacrifice if it got me out of a few really big, bad multi-year deals.

I have no idea how the real Yanks are going to handle this problem. Granted, players in The Show regress faster than real life, but they have so many players who are being paid for their performances in their prime well into their golden years, and they have like no spects.

took it a step further, with some trade package ideas. (in bold). Obviously selling off like this would be unrealistic, but I think those deals are at least fair.

Tried to view the spreadsheet from Totte's link and it said

"This item might have been deleted, expired, or you might not have permission to view it. Contact the owner of this item for more information."

Was looking for young players the Marlins could maybe acquire (I care more for fair than purely realistic, though both would be ideal) without dealing Fernandez (and hopefully Stanton).

I think Kuroda is unrealistic for the Mariners. We already have a beast rotation with King Felix, Iwakuma, Walker, Paxton, and Elias. Maybe, just maybe Kuroda could supplant Elias as the 5th starter, either that or take up long relief duty. M's would definitely not trade 2 promissing prospects for an aging SP. When that is the strength of the organization.

I did a Fantasy draft franchise (and while that's unrealstic to begin with lol) I'm trying to acquire Mike Trout. Trout's on the Blue Jays and I can't have that happen! I spent all my first round picks on young talent so my MLB roster is pretty poor.

                      I Give

                      Miguel Sano
                      Byron Buxton
                      Jurikson Profar

                      I Get
                      Mike Trout

Buxton and Profar would immediately make an impact for the Jays. They have Rickie Weeks at 2nd and Buxton would take over in center. Their current third basemen is Casey McGehee but I don't think the CPU will play Sano right off the bat. Do I need to give up more?

I think we should all just let the Jays have Trout. Agreed? Good talk.
