My fellow Phillies brother. I'd take a can of soup for Antonio Bastardo... but here it seems like you can actually get a player for the guy.

Anyways you can probably get something like a low B or mid B if someone's bullpen is really struggling. If it was July I'd say trade for a need (pitching for a decent hitter)... but not sure if the same applies since it's May. Maybe try and go for a guy who is decent starter quality or something on a deep team? Maybe a guy similar to Cliff Pennington(just an example lol)?

Teams interested in Scherzer (They have the payroll to give him the monies)

      Cubs (idk...but they have prospects)

      What do you guys think?

I would keep him, but if you do a sign and trade in the offseason, the Cubs would be a great year partner. You could get some good pieces back (you already know that lol) I'm just dreaming about trading a guy like Felix and getting 4-5 if those guys back. Lol but I'd never do that

Someone tell me if these trades were okay. I made them in late June. Im currently in early July (playing every game, so it goes slowly and I could back-track if needed.

One was the Athletics trading SS/2B Nick Punto, and 1B Matt Olson (AA) B POT (84) for 2B Neil Walker of the Pirates.

Walker was hitting .257 with 11 HR and 33 RBI. He fits nicely in their lineup due to their need at 2B with Callaspo/Sogard struggling. Punto serves as depth and Matt Olson could possibly be the future 1B in Pittsburgh.

The other trade That occurred in June was the Rays picking up an elite Leadoff hitter, as Desmond Jennings was hitting .214 and was placed on the bench.

They traded 21 year-old SP (low B) Blake Snell (AA) to Kansas City for OF Jarrod Dyson. Dyson is hitting .323 with a high OBP and 16 stolen bases. He goes directly in the leadoff spot while Blake Snell reports to AA Montgomery.

Wondering what the value is on a 30yr old 92ovr Clay Buchholz in my chise. This is a 13 the show chise however I'm 2015. 2 weeks away from the deadline and he's 4-9 5.00 ERA 1.44 WHIP. He would be a rental as he is set to be a free agency at season's end & I dont plan on stopping him . Red Sox are in dead last in the East ( 18.5 GB) and they have plenty of young pitching. I was thinking somwhere along the lines of a couple of High C's or Low B.

          Thanks in advance.

Nailed it. Two high C's or a low B. That sounds good

Seems like a slight overpay from the Rays. Shouldn't have been more than a high C for Dyson IMO but maybe Snell was pitching poorly?

Olson straight up for Walker would be cool. Punto however, isn't worth that much so as a throw in to match salaries or something, I could see it happening.

I was thinking a high C as well for Dyson. But it seems like the Rays are desperate and Snell was either a low/mid B so I figured it would do. He wasn't doing too good either so I would say it's fair.

Punto was just used for like depth because now the only MIF they had who was decent this year was Jordy Mercer. He could realistically start at 2B the way others are playing (Hansen, etc.)

Damn looked at the trade chart:

SS Alexi Ramirez: Mid B Low B High C
SS Troy Tulo: LOL...4 best prospects. Not even going to try
SS/3B Trevor Plouffe (MIN): High C High C (13 HR's on the season)
SS Marwin Gonzalez (HOU): High D (I used him in HOU franchise and really like him)

I would also like a Left-Handed SP or bullpen arm:

SP John Danks (CWS): High C
*My staff could use a nice lefty and he's having an okay season. His K's are super low. Can post stats when I get home. I have 4 RHP + 1 LHP in rotation. I could easily put Vance Worley back in AAA and bring in a LHP.

Open to other suggestions from the teams I stated were out of contention:

                  Chicago Cubs
                  Miami Marlins

Agree with kmoser that Plouffe and Gonzales are good (and cheap) targets.

As for the lefties and the teams you listed, here's a few option:
                      Cubs - Travis Wood
                      Marlins - Brian Flynn
                      Astros - Dallas Keuchel
Twins - Brian Duensing (convert back to SP)
Rockies - Brett Anderson, Christian Friedrich, Jorge De La Rosa
                      White Sox - John Danks
Braves - not a realistic option for a lefty starter (Minor/Wood)

If I were to do a deal with his spreadsheet value (Mid-A, 2 Mid-Bs) here's what I'd see:

                        Scherzer, PTBNL?

                        for

Addison Russell (Baez is a long shot I think)

Jorge Soler (Fills out outfield need)

                        CJ Edwards

Cubs get a top-tier pitcher to put them in contention and the Tigers get MLB-ready prospects by the time 2015 rolls around as well as their needs being filled. Thoughts?

I think I'm going to target John Danks and Plouffe/Gonzalez. I really like the fact Gonzalez is a switch hitter but Plouffe has that power which would be nice in the #7/8 slot.

Also Plouffe has some nice versatility...

                          Might have to go Plouffe/Danks

Soler is a mid-B? I mean, he could be but I find that odd.

Anyway, I would say his value would be drastically improved, coming off of two back-to-back Cy Young seasons. You could potentially get something of Alcantra + Almora + High B/Low A.

So I would put his value at two As, and a High B/Low A. Or you could add a second player and get even more prospects back, like multiple Bs/Cs

I could be way off though, might want someone else's confirmation.

I've now reached early July in my Padres/A's franchise and would like to make some moves. I'm in last place in the division and looking to trade some veterans to improve my farm system. Right now I have two relatively major moves in mind and I was hoping to get some feedback.

                                Trade #1
                                Padres Trade:
                                Ian Kennedy - 4-7, 3.66 ERA, 110.2 IP, 106 H, 71 K, 25 BB, 17 HR
                                AND
                                Carlos Quentin - .248/.294/.435, 15 HR
                                AND
                                Huston Street - 0-1, 4.13 ERA, 25 SV, 28.3 IP, 27 H, 28 K, 6 BB, 2 HR

To Minnesota Twins (45-39, T1st) For:
                                Aaron Hicks (24 years old, High C) - .225/.270/.304, 138 AB, 1 HR, 0 SB
                                AND
                                Eduardo Nunez - (26, AAA, Low B) - .264/.323/.368, 2 HR, 15 SB
                                AND
                                Trevor May (24, AAA, Low-Mid B) - 5-9, 3.89 ERA, 104 IP, 124 H, 116 K, 40 BB, 6 HR
                                OR
                                Logan Darnell (25, AAA, Low B) - 12-2, 2.16 ERA, 125 IP, 103 H, 90 K, 27 BB, 5 HR

                                Thought Process
Kennedy immediately becomes one of the best-rated SP's for the Twins and gives their rotation a very nice boost. They had been approaching me about Quentin because they could use another RH bat with pop. Apart from Perkins, their entire bullpen has been pretty lousy. Street had a horrible first month but has been lights out since then. Hicks has been injured most of the year, but he's the kind of OF I'm looking for (speed, defense, a bit of pop). I would prefer May to Darnell if possible, he could compete for a spot in the rotation as soon as next year. Nunez would be an ideal utility infielder for me.

                                Trade #2
                                Padres Trade:
                                Will Venable - .289/.331/.509, 12 HR, 15 SB
                                AND
                                Tyson Ross (Low B) - 5-5, 5.00 ERA, 90 IP, 102 H, 69 K, 33 BB, 12 HR
                                AND
                                Casey Kelly (24 years old, AAA, High C) - 2-12, 5.77 ERA, 93.7 IP, 119 H, 95 K, 32 B, 12 HR

To KC Royals (42-43, 3.5GB) For:
                                Bubba Starling (21, AA, Mid B) - .267/.330/.437, 12 HR, 13SB
                                AND
                                John Lamb (23, AAA, High C) - 3-3, 3.34 ERA, 62 IP, 57 H, 49 K, 17 BB, 7 HR
                                AND
                                Justin Maxwell (30, AAA, Mid C) - .284/.376/.471 in 102AB, 5 HR

                                Thought Process:
Venable is having a good year and is signed through next year at a reasonable price. Ross is younger and cost-controlled with decent potential, but his poor numbers this year are deflating his value a bit. Kelly is pretty much just a throw-in who could use a change of scenery. Bubba got off to a poor start, heated up a bit, but has cooled back down. His numbers aren't bad in AA and again he really fits the mold I'm looking for. Lamb is a nice young lefty, even if he'll probably never be more than a #4 or #5. Maxwell doesn't have a ton of value, but I like him a 4th or 5th outfielder.

Anyone have any thoughts on these trades? I'm aiming for 100% fair and maybe 70% realistic. My main concern is that I don't want to underpay for Bubba Starling, I'd be willing to replace Kelly with a low-B pitching prospect if that helps. I feel like I may be giving too much in the Twins trade, but I'd rather err on the side of overpaying.
