Being a Tiger fan....my first thought was Jeff Samardzija for Rick Porcello (I know...), Jonathon Crawford, and Cory Knebel. Is that undervaluing Samardzija?

Not looking for top of the line starter but someone young that can fill in the back end of the rotation.

Eh, Cubs don`t need Crawford. We have a plethora of infield prospects. Detroit isn`t a good match, I think the Jays are a lot better. I`m personally going to target RHP Marcus Stroman of the Jays for Samardzija later in my franchise.

Is Andrew Cashner ACTUALLY available? At what cost? Cause you can go ahead and name it, lol.

That's actually a solid starting point, I'm a huge Porcello fan. Maybe with an actual defense behind him his ERA will line up with his peripherals.

I think you need one more solid piece in there, though. Porcello + Crawford/Knebel/Thompson + another solid, valuable piece should get you Shark.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Alrighty guys, OSFM is getting closer and closer to dropping and i think instead of just waiting and playing with teams up until the middle trade months i am going to be doing spring training deals to enhance teams early on and help out the rebuilding teams a bit more...my trade candidates though were linked in trade scenarios or will be most likely dealt this season.

        To Yankees:
        Jeff Samardzija
        James Russell

        To Cubs:
        Gary Sanchez
        Manny Banuelos
        Ian Clarkin

        To Yankees:
        Jean Machi

        To Giants:
        Ichiro

        To Mariners:
        Joc Pederson

        To Dodgers:
        Nick Franklin
(Seen something like this in here before)

        To Marlins:
        Will Middlebrooks

        To Red Sox:
        Asdrubal Cabrera
        Justin Nicolino

        To Indians:
        Allen Webster
        Bryce Brentz

All for the start of the season, but i also have questions on if Panda, Headley, Lowrie, and Cuddy are realistic trade options. And, feel free to pretty up my deals a bit, here for help nothing is ever set in stone

I think the Cubs would rather the best prospect in the deal be a pitcher.

          The full trade was:

          Blue Jays: Joc Pederson
          Dodgers: Nick Franklin

Panda's realistic, Headley is realistic, Lowrie depends on how the A's are doing and how Addison Russell is doing, and Cuddyer is only realistic if the Rockies are way out of it.

Hmm, so maybe try another three way with the Yanks, D-Backs, Cubs or go into a D-Backs - Cubs deal? Another possibility is a Jays - Cubs deal.

            The full trade was:

            Mariners: Colby Rasmus
            Blue Jays: Joc Pederson
            Dodgers: Nick Franklin
I think i will do this one, thanks.

I will be back when it is that time of the year when trades are heating up with the weather

I don't know if the FO would do this, but as a Jays fan, I would do Aaron Sanchez, D.J. Davis and Moises Sierra for Samardzija.

Shark might be a deeper in the season trade candidate just so i have stats with him before i deal him off, but Jays, Yankees, and D-Backs are the top three teams he will most likely end up with.

                  @AC:

Is there a "House Rules / Player Value" guide for trades in this title anywhere on the forums?

I like to do "Moneyball" rebuilds where I trade vets with expiring contracts for prospects, but it's kind of easy to exploit the AI doing that...

                  For example:

What should the typical A (B or C) prospect garner in trade?

What kind of OVR / vet(s) / other prospects / contracts make it worth it to that prospects current club?

Is it even possible to have "general guideline" overview?

                  Thanks!

It's being worked on! The spreadsheet will be out very soon, and it will show you (our opinion on) player values and who can garner who.

Not to speak for the guys actually working on it, but I'd give it a week at most.

Feliz could probably nab you a bat from the Twins, White Sox, Orioles, Astros, Angels or Cubs. Anyone you like there?

Doing a franchise with my Cards when it drops for PS4. I wanna get rid of Garcia and Holliday for a catcher in the future, or outfield bat.

Plan is to bring Taveras in during mid season, and have Marco replace Garcia at some point the first two years.
