IMHO, Vogelbach is too much for Josh R.
Reddick is a platoon OF and apparently isnt doing good in your franchise. Vogelbach is a very legit top bat who has lost a crapload of weight to be able to play 1B.
Christian Villanueva might be a better choice

I was thinking something along those lines. For some reason the only trade they would accept was Lake or Olt and a b rated 3b prospect I picked up as a FA in the off season. Thanks for the suggestion.

Here is a couple of the CPU AI trades:
        1. Mets David Wright to the Royals for two "A" starting pitchers one of them was Ventura
Both teams are more than 10 GB back of 1st in their divisions, but the Royal are about 8GB of a WC.

        2. Twins Joe Mauer to the 1st place Brewers for three "B" relievers. Now this trade made since to me. The Brewers are in 1st, up by 0.5 over the surging Cardinals. They only had Overbay & Reynolds. Reynolds have 12HR, but he's only batting .220. Mauer is an upgrade @ 1st base. The AI has him batting 3rd in all the lineup's.

The 2nd trade is the more realistic option, I still can't see either happening though because the twins are only getting relievers back in return. If it was a mix of pitchers and position players it would make more sense to me

Real life trying to move the goalposts again:

Jason Heyward and Jordan Walden to the Cards for Shelby Miller and a minor leaguer.

Strange things can happen in contract years.

No. Joe Mauer for 3 relief pitchers does not make any sense at all unless Terry Ryan is trying to count how many pitchforks and lanterns are in the state of Minnesota.

Hey guys, in the offseason and need pitching, much like the real Sox. Since I hear Latos' name pop up alot often, and my like of Latos, I am wondering what it would take to acquire his services. He had a 3.63 ERA and 186 Ks last year. The only person I will not give up in a trade is Swihart. Mookie will take alot for me to let go of, but if there's no other option but him, I'll do it.

I want to add Marrero and WMB (255 AB, .235/9/31)/ Cecchini (MLB: 116 AB, .233/5/10) in this deal if it is possible.

                  I'm curious....
If the real life J-Hey trade was proposed in this thread....would it be called unrealistic?

I myself would have blocked it if it was proposed in my franchise...I'm interested in what you guys think.

I think someone would have said "unrealistic" and I would have blocked it during the 2014 season, but I open ip a bit more after the first year. If it happened with the timing in the game that it did in real life or during ST or something, I get more open about the differences between digital life and real life. I personally would let it theough now, but I am often a dissenting opinion in here. I think it is because I put myself into the other team's views of needs more than just the users. Also, only having 90 man rosters changes things a bit not to mention differences in payroll and salaries in the game versus real life. That just throws a wrench into it. Also, things like if a user is the ChiSox and wants to trade Sale, I think it is realistic for them to do so since they are the owner of the ChiSox in their digital world--but if they are anyone else trying to get him, good luck!

                      Point taken, though.

This is a tough one because it has been said that the Reds feel they have one last chance to win next year and are going to go for it, but that could be posturing to try and get the best deals. They are built to win now with not much for prospects in the farm and high salary MLB quality starters in the bigs. Might wait till June 2015 to see if they are doing poorly for realism or if they do deal someone irl. Otherwise, you'll have to give up something they need like Cespedes and a bench piece for the future like Holt OR Betts that fills present and future needs for them. I don't see present interest in the names you brought up (WMB, Cecchini, Marrero), maybe in June/July.

To be honest I think it would have been called unrealistic because nobody would think that Miller would be moved and for only 1 year of Heyward. I think the value was fair though. The Braves get an OF to fill the hole left by the late Taveras, and a decent reliever to work the 7th or 8th inning leading to Rosenthal.

Just got an interesting trade request in year 2 of my Cubs Franchise. I'm in mid-June, after the '15 draft and I'm 41-22 in 1st place. The Ray's just offered Price for Addison Russell and 2 A-Rated prospects I drafted in 2014. One's a catcher with an overall of 67 and 99 potential and the other is a pitcher with a 52 overall and 93 potential.

The Ray's are also in 1st place one game up on the Yankees. They have some pitching depth but nothing like Price. I was going to wait and try to sign Price in the offseason but now I'm thinking maybe I would make the trade as long as it works well for both teams. Based on the real life price trade I feel like their trade is an overpay. I'm playing with OSFM. The only two players off the table are Bryant and Baez as they are both currently destroying MLB pitching for the big league club.

                            Any additional suggestions are appreciated.

The list of pitchers who have made 31 starts in consecutive years by the age of 23 is small and it includes names like Kershaw and Bumgarner.

If Heyward's slash line over the last couple seasons continues the Cardinals will come out as big losers in the deal. They panicked after the death of Tavares. A better option would have been to sign Markakis - or Tomas - and keep Miller.

This could end up being the worst trade for the Cardinals since Carlton.

Miller was the 5th best pitcher the Cardinals had, and for half of his big league career has been considered broken. His strikeout rate has also dipped significantly and his walks were up this year. Could he turn into an ace still? Of course, but there's also a good chance he becomes nothing more than an average or slightly above average starter.

Using WAR Heyward is considered one of the best outfielders in baseball, and even if you don't like WAR his defense and on-base percentage are improvements over anything the Cardinals currently have, and significantly better than Markakis. Miller, or even Jenkins, could well turn out to be great, but that's not the most likely scenario, and as a Cardinals fan I am thrilled Heyward was so cheap.
