Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So to start fresh, how much would it take for the Mariners to get Evan Gattis from the Braves? Again, towards the end of the offseason, around January/Feburary, not sure which exactly. Want him as a backup C/1B/DH/LFComment

Much better target. An outfield prospect + a pitching/infield prospect would be good."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
They obviously weren't "legit" rumors, just some speculation by guys who cover the Mariners. It was back when they were looking at Ian Desmond and there was a lot of speculation on a couple articles that we'd try and make it a block buster and try and grab J. Zimmerman or Harper along with DesmondComment

Yes I remember that. Looking back over articles that I read online, they were merely speculation and nothing more. My bad.Comment

It's not that there's no circumstance in which they could be traded for. It's tat there's no circumstance in which a trade would make sense.Comment

I don't think the Braves would accept any Freeman deal. He's 25 and already an established clubhouse leader, and a darn good hitter.
Fair trades wouldn't be too crazy to make on paper, but the Braves are not trading him.Moderator

You think they would turn down Cashner, Myers and Wisler? If I added a tad more I could land Sale. I doubt if the braves were offered that they would declineComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Sale is a better player, but he's not as valuable to the Sox as Freeman is to the Braves.
Fair trade, yes, but the Braves wouldn't accept. They wouldn't have any reason to.Moderator

Disagree. For the right offer everyone (people like Jeter and Ortiz are the exceptions) is availableComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't have any desire to tell people how to run their teams. They can run it however they choose because everyone has their own style and I'm very respectful of that. At the same time however, what I'm saying is that if you are attempting to run a realistic/fair franchise on the Show, you have to take into account for the other teams and things such as their budget constraints, needs and how they view certain players. It takes two to tango.
Again, I'm not here to tell people what they can and can't do. The purpose of this thread is to simply guide people along and provide them with feedback that will lead to realistic and/or fair trades.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil
