How much do you guys think Mike Olt costs if he's sucking? And what about Edwin Jackson?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Cespedes seems to be the second most realistic, but would the A's really part with him now?
Bruce is having a bit of a rough season, and the Reds aren't doing too well. Granted that's taking real life MLB in to play, but I can't see the Dodgers trading Kemp specifically because of his contract, and Cespedes seems too valuable to the A's, therefore Bruce, to me, seems the most realistic to be traded.Last edited by Coper3000; 05-17-2014, 09:10 PM.Comment

Olt is tough to judge. He didn't hit at all for me, but he's rated decently well, and he's still young and controllable. I would say probably a pair of C's.Comment

Well, Kemp's contract is horrible (so thats sure as heck going to eliminate a lot of teams from acquiring him) right off the bat, therefore I imagine he is going to be the most unrealistic.

Well I'm the Mets, so if they really wanted to they could take on Kemps contract.

I traded Edwin Jackson to Anaheim for 2 High C players I believe (can't remember who exactly I got). He had a 3.80ish ERA for me when I dealt him in July.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ugh, I really want Jackson but I doubt there's room in my rotation for him. I'm gonna send Chase DeJong (low B) and Kyle Drabek (probably high C) for Olt. I REALLY want Olt because of the platoon opportunities he gives me with Lind, Lawrie and a guy I'm claiming off of waivers.
Out of curiosity who is in your rotation and who is the claim?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Dickey/Morrow/Buehrle/Miley/Hutchison with Stroman, Nolin and Sanchez waiting, and the claim is Jeff Keppinger, who was recently DFA'd. I'm going to be doing positional and handedness platoons involving Kepp, Olt, Lawrie, Lind, Navarro, and Kratz.
I'll be starting this file tomorrow or so and starting a dynasty on it so all the planning has to be done soon lol."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Trades I just made in my Rays franchise.
Ryan Hanigan has been traded back to the Reds for Bryan Pena. I had to get rid of Hanigan. Had to. He was killing me at the bottom of the order. I went through so many scenarios to acquire a catcher and he was the best I could do in a one-for-one.
I also acquired Andre Ethier from the Dodgers for Tim Beckham. I sent Kevin Kiermaier back to Triple-A. Also sent Sean Rodriguez to Triple-A and called up Wilson Betemit. Rodriguez was batting .056 in a part time role. Brutal. David DeJesus will now serve a bench role. Had him as my leadoff hitter and he has 13 hits in 50 at-bats but no RBI.
The two trades have really allowed me to better balance the lineup with some more lefties. It was very right handed heavy. Here is my lineup now.
1. Desmond Jennings , CF (L)
2. Ben Zobrist, 2B (S)
3. Andre Ethier, LF (L)
4. Evan Longoria, 3B (R)
5. James Loney, 1B (L)
6. Wil Myers, RF (R)
7. Matt Joyce, DH (L)
8. Bryan Pena, C (S)
9. Yunel Escobar, SS (R)Comment

Haha interesting. You really don't have room in your rotation and you kinda seem to be developing platoon splits that would make Bob Melvin proud!
Im always curious to see how people put together teams.
Again out of curiosity what else do you have to plan?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Still thinking of potential trades for my chise....
Like the idea of getting Smoak that Totte suggested a while back and I'm wondering if I could get Ackley in that deal aswell? I also don't really like Scooter Gennett personally and I know he could be possibly dealt to the Jays.
Brewers Get: Smoak+Ackley & Drabek/Buehrle(he might be to much for Scooter, not sure)
Mariners Get: Hunter Morris, Mitch Haniger, Ariel Pena
Jays Get: Scooter Gennett
Would really like to make a three team deal like this if I could, just would like suggestions if I don't have the values matched right.| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Maldonado is a decent backup catcher but Pacheco is more valuable by far. Rockies should probably get another High C, because Wooten isn't worth much either| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment
