Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah that was kinda what I meant to say Bogaerts is untouchable for me and Owens too but I admit I'd put Owens in a Tulo deal obviously. But I just dealt off 3 good ones was also weighed into my not having enough for him theory.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I was thinking about trading CarGo potentially at the end of the season with my Rockies that Im controlling.
Its only the ASG in 2014, but I'm 8 GB of the Dodgers (decided to take over a struggling team in mid-June, dont make fun of my playing ability). I think if the team continues to struggle for the 2nd half Ill look to pull the trigger.
My idea is to get a really solid young arm in return (possibly with ML experience) + a decent hitting prospect. Just racking my head of who could be a good fit - maybe Ill look at some of the really good teams at the deadline and find a fit for Cargo.
For what its worth he's having a good season. He's only missed a few games due to injury and is hitting .279 with 16 HRs and 51 RBIs.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Im playing on HOF pitching and hitting. I only play a game a week. I think its becasue the Cubs were rebuilding mode. Every franchise I start that I don't 30 team control the Twins will trade Buxton, Sano, Vargas in the 1st 2 months since they are rebulding. that needs to be fixed. I went back and traded back the trade as it wasn't realisticWatch me game on Twitch!

Yes, in my Astro's season that I didn't do 30 team the Twins were on rebuild. Apparently that means trade you 2 top prospects, Buxton and Sano, and Kenny Vargas for a 75 overall relief pitcher...SMH. They should try to get prospects not trade themWatch me game on Twitch!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
For guys who complain I didn't read through the 300 pages of discussion, some of you guys had a hard time reading (or comprehending) one post (albeit long).
1) The Oakland Athletics offered me a trade.
2) How the A's acquired these players I do not know.
3) Normally I decline these offers because it just isn't worth it for my immediate goals.
4) I only brought this topic here because the deal seemed to good and was actually tempting me to pull the trigger.
5) I explicitly wrote a paragraph detailing my outfield and how I thought losing Ellsbury wouldn't kill me too much.
Now I did delete a sentence at the end where I was asking if such a move, a look towards the future while hurting my chances now, would be seen as disrespectful to Jeter. The only reason I came here was because the deal looked way too good. I got my answer. Seriously though, if you are going to be snarky, at least take the time to read.
Anyways, the trade is dead in the water and I'm moving on. I'll just try to rebuild the traditional Yankee way, overpay free agents well into their prime to deals that extend well beyond the actual players usefulness. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Looks like Buxton and Baez will get the call for the Twins. Both on are their 40-man and played in Spring Training, though Baez did rather poorly.
Yeah, no idea how those tags apply. Mets were "rebuilding" even though they almost won the NL East. Why didn't it switch to "playoff push"?"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In mine, the Twins still have Buxton. Sano is on the O's with him struggling to develop (he's doing the worst out of the three - still 99 POT but languishing in the mid-70's OVR), and the Twins went and got Baez to replace him heh.

Also, there is a search function. No one should - or actually needs to - read through 300 pages. Just search up Baez and you can see other trades users made."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
For those bringing up the team strategy and wondering ...why didn't XXXX go into playoff...or whatever....
Besides the Yankee/Philly rebuilding bug....I think Aaron and Luis mentioned that current win-loss or standings position is not the only determining factor.....there is depth and budget involved in the rebuilding/playoff factor as well.
I think a CPU that can't or doesn't have prospect depth AND $$$ will stay normal or rebuild.
It's still a little whack...but keep that in mind as well.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm bringing another question from my Fantasy draft franchise. I know that throws things up in the air, but I still want to make sure I'm doing a fair deal in terms of player value.
I'm the Yankees. We are having a very strong season on practically all fronts. The lineup is producing and the back and front ends of the rotation are going strong. I'm maintaining a pretty solid lead in the division.
However the problem I'm encountering is the middle of the rotation. They haven't been bad by any means but I can't seem to pitch with them. The two guys I'm talking about are Shelby Miller and Gerrit Cole.
Miller has had a good season so far 4-2 with a 3.51 ERA his K's have been down but other than that he's done a fine job. Cole started the season badly but has picked up in recent starts. He's sitting at 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA.
I wanted to package the both of them, along with Kyle Zimmer (Who is tearing up the minors might I add) for Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw is sitting at 2-1 for the Reds. Despite the fact that he has made 9 starts on the season he's only got a decision 3 times. His ERA is in the 2.50 range. Cinci is having a terrible season, even though it's early. The reds are 8 games back from the division and are a very old team.
My logic is that by giving them 3 young potential Aces in exchange for one is more than fair. Thoughts?
