Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Ok so this is the dilemma I currently am faced with my 2015 Cubs are 70-37 at the trade deadline I have 2 different saves I have 2 because I simulated the last 2 weeks after the all star game because they kept on trading SP CJ Edwards for 3B Martin Prado even though we had Kris Bryant starting and looking like a sure fire Rookie Of The Year. So that trade kept pissing me off so I kept restarting and simulating the last 2 weeks of July until they kept CJ Edwards especially since he has A potential. I ended up with 2 great alternate realities one where they trade CJ the other where they keep him. I need help decided which one should I continue to play.

    Reality 1

    2015 Cubs 70-37

In this reality they trade CJ Edwards who was 23yrs 73ovr with A potential and our 6th best SP playing in double AA with the Smokies, here is the trade

    Royals get : C.J. Edwards 23yrs 72ovr A potential, Jake Arrieta 28yrs 77ovr B potential

Cubs get: James Shields 33yrs 90ovr B potential.

after the trade our Cubs rotation is stacked looking like this

Max Scherzer most likely to win CY young award 30yrs 90ovr B potential
    James Shields 33yrs 90ovr B potential
    Jeff Samardzija 30yrs 86ovr B potential
    Travis Wood 28yrs 79ovr C potential
    Edwin Jackson 31yrs 78ovr B potential

that looks like a stud rotation and I really love it but the downfall is we got a lot of old pitchers which is why I didn't really wanna lose CJ Edwards and his A potential. we still have 3 other A potential SP but its always better to have 4, the 3 are

Benny Hinch 20yrs 68ovr A potential 6th best SP after trade

Pierce Johnson 23yrs 68ovr A potential 7th best SP post trade

    Frederic Pugh 21yrs 64ovr A potential 16th best SP

So we still have 3 stud pitchers in our organization to take Cj Edwards place but he was the best of the 4 and its just gonna suck to see him go especially since our starting position players are so young so we should be good for a long time which is why I wanna keep all my young stud pitchers but I cant beat that trade for another Ace pitcher im confused. the average age of our infield players is 23 ( Rizzo, Finger is my player, Kris Bryant, Castro) are all very young so we will need some good young pitchers. not to mention our starting outfielders Lake, Almora is in triple AAA but should be starting next year, and Soler are also very young.
so even though my team is beasting I would love to keep our young pitchers what should I do.

    Reality 2

    2015 Cubs 71-37

in this reality the Cubs made no moves at the deadline and we get to keep Arrieta as our 5th SP and CJ Edwards our 6th best SP goes back to Double AA idk why they don't have in AAA but who cares and now we keep our 4 A potential SP so one day they can replace our aging SP's

I just need help on which Reality to pick which one would u go with I am currently leaning torwards reality #1 because just because they have A potential doesn't mean they will ever reach James Shields level idk but I need help
Only thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

I should've clarified a little bit here. Technically, looking at my players profile, my primary is still in the outfield. What I did was go through the interactions menu with the manager asking to play a new position....

Yep I originally tried to switch to RF but the coach said that wasn't a fit. I ended up getting him to switch me to LF. Problem was I still sat on the bench behind Trumbo even though I was rated higher.

Thankfully in my situation having Goldschmidt on the bench hasn't hurt the team. We finished the season with 103 wins and just beat the Dodgers in five in the NLDS. Now we will take on the Braves (my original team). Hoping we can win back to back world series.

In my RTTS, I've noticed the roof is never closed in stadiums like Arizona, Seattle and Houston. Is that just the way it goes?

I have a 2B in 2016 96 ovr with the Giants, behind me in AAA is a 74 ovr top prospect 2B and no starter at my secondary position (CF), but Clint Fraizer is in AAA 65 ovr. I tried getting the manager to switch me to CF and he says i don't have the skills to play CF, when my fielding throw strength and throw accuracy is all at 70. Do ya'll think if i got that to 80 or something the manger would let me switch. Logically moving me to CF and calling up the top prospect to play 2B would help the defense, but i guess the computer doesn't think that way.

Reason i like playing CF, bc its much more challenging than 2B/SS, to me it's pretty easy to field ground balls and throw them to 1st or 2nd.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

I have found a way to kind of alter the game how I want it to go (I'm still on RTTS 13). Using manual injuries and picking and choosing which goals I want to complete.. I have created a contact/above average speed/fielding 2nd baseman and will play every season of my career as a Rockie.

I wanted HR's to be an extreme rarity.. unlike how the game tries to transform you into this .300+ avg, 25+ HR player, no matter what.

Well I just hit my 1st career home run. It came a few games into my 3rd full season haha. Contact ratings are 83/75 and my power ratings are 34/32, both favoring my ability to hit lefties.

I disliked how in previous games I would end up being this beast player that hits .330 and 20 HR's every year with 95+ speed.. So this time I really focused on how I was spending my training points and I think I have finally made the player I want.

I'm hoping to have a player in the low 90's-mid 80's in contact, under 50 power, and around 90 speed. Much better than the 99 contact, 70 power, 95 speed, all around beast that gets really boring to play with after awhile.

In terms of the regression, it can be a real pain. Really tough to keep attributes, specifically contact and im guessing power too around 90.

Just finish the 2015 season and we made it to the ALDS but lost to the Rays and they won the World Series against the Giants. My stats for the Mariners: .266, 346 AB, 92 Hs, 21 HRs and 46 RBIs. The Mariners went 98-67 and finish the AL West 1st and I'm pretty proud of the Mariners; regardless of me doing horrible stats wise.

What are the most important attributes to boost when first beginning with a starting pitcher? I always seem to kill AA but as soon as I get called up to AAA I start to get rocked and find it difficult to make it to the bigs

Unrealistic numbers was hitting 380 or so for a couple months, tried to SIM to lower my average but it remained high even after a couple months worth of simming.

My 2B was drafted late first round by the Red Sox organization. Tore up AA and then AAA ball, but stuck behind Pedroia all year. Offseason comes and Sox offer me a 1 year contract as a AA Starter!

Spring training 2015 rolls around and I play pretty well, including a handful of home runs. Good enough to stay in the Show (19 years young). Started slow and am being used as a pinch hitter and sometimes starter for the most part, but have come on strong last several games, including hitting for the cycle against the Nationals--went 2B, 3B, HR, then I ripped a ball down the third base line in my 4th at bat, an easy double, but I stopped at 1st to complete the cycle. Maybe that's why I didn't get an appearance in the 4 or 5 games after that performance.

My average is now up to .315 with a couple of homers to go along with a handful of doubles and triples. Playing primarily SS, my secondary position, but will start at second to give Pedroia a day off when needed. I checked the all star voting and I have 117k votes, too!

One thing I've noticed that kind of sucks is the scoreboard on the monster, or more accurately, the division standings. They are static and don't change to reflect actual standings. From the first homestand of the season, the AL East had played 70+ games and we were listed in 4th as 6.5 games back of the Yankees. Same standings persist every game; takes away from the live scoreboard on the monster.
