I spent my entire 20-y/o season in AA, halfway through my 21 y/o season I got called up to AAA and was a September call-up. I'm a VERY good fielder, I've never made an error, and I hit for power but not very good average.

So my 21 y/o season (2015), I batted .243 with 5 HRs and 17 RBIs. I am now 22, and the year is 2016, and we're looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2001. I started the season in MLB as the 1B batting 7th

    Our lineup is pretty good

    SS Brad Miller
    LF Dustin Ackley
    2B Robinson Cano
    DH DJ Peterson
    3B Kyle Seager
    C Mike Zunino
    1B Trent Hadler (me)
    RF Michael Saunders
    CF James Jones/Abraham Almonte

I'll update after the 2016 season.
My Nationals team dealt for Brad Miller and he ended up getting the World Series MVP over me.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

So I created a LF (6'7" 249lbs) with a secondary of 3B. Did well in the Showcase batting .615 with 1 HR and 3 RBI, did have an error in the field.. Anyways, chose to go to my favorite team, Miami, and was drafted by them in the 3rd round.

I played a few games in left for AA Jacksonville and then I started a franchise with Miami, and after a few years I saw Yelich get up to a 95 overall.. And since he's also a LF I figured that they wouldn't have a need for me so I changed over to 3rd. So I ended going on a tear and batting .351 while knocking in 18 HR, 57 RBI before I was called up in June to AAA New Orleans. Spent about a month there and went .331 with 4 HR and 20 RBI before I was called up to Miami in late June. The first game or 2 went well and after a few games I was batting .309 with 1 HR and 5 RBI.. Then the bottom fell out and I hit 3-31 over a rough stretch. It was really frustrating. Then I stopped using guess pitch, and it pulled a 180. Ended the year batting .313 with 9 HR and 30 RBI.
signed a 1 yr, 535 k deal with Miami in the offseason.
Spring training was, rough.. Only hit .255 but did have 4 HR and 14 RBI.
2015 started up and down. Opening series I went 3-13 with a HR, a double and a triple. All in separate games. Then it got going.. 10 games in I'm hitting .500 with 7 HR and 13 RBI.. Including 5 HR in the last 4 games (1 in all 3 home games vs Atlanta with game 3 knocking in 2, and while pinch hitting in philly I hit 1 with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th to tie it.. The last 3 Homeruns have been on first pitch)
      Favorite Teams:
NCAAB- Duke Blue Devils (Defending National Champs!)
NASCAR- Kevin Harvick (Defending Sprint Cup Champ!)
      NBA- Los Angeles Clippers
      MLB- Miami Marlins
      NFL- New York Jets
      NCAAF- Duke Blue Devils
      NHL- Carolina Hurricanes

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

So my 21-y/o 1B never even made an appearance with the Mariners, he got sent to AAA about a week into the season. Then in AAA I got injured and was out for the entire year.

Now I'm 22, still have my A POT, and am a 72 OVR. I made the MLB team out of spring training, and currently the game is loading into my first ever appearance. A tie ballgame in bottom if the 9th against the O's on opening day against Koji Uehara. I'll edit this post and tell you what happens.

Also will post at the end of the 2016 season.

EDIT: YOU GUESSED IT, a walkoff homerun!

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

So in 2016 I had a .273 AVG with 9 HR and 31 RBI. I only had 183 ABs with 50 hits. We actually ended up beating the Nationals and winning the WS. I never was a full time starter, I spent the entire season making spot starts. I batted .333 in the playoffs, with 30 ABs and 10 H.

Here's to me becoming a bigger part of the offense in 2017!

          Notes: Felix won MVP/CY in 2014 & 2016
Cano has won 2B gold glove/silver slugger every year
We traded for Kendrys Morales in 2015, and he won the batting title in 2016.

Nice, I'm in my 2nd full season with the Mariners. I had a terrible start at the beginning of the season, but I climbed back to the starter role as a centerfielder.

The Mariners are actually doing pretty well in my RTTS, grabbing first place in the AL West and leading the MLB in HRs and winning percentage (with Felix going 9-0 already).

Even though we have dominant pitching, outr hitting isn't nearly as good as it was in 2016, and Robinson Cano leads the team in hitting with a .314 AVG, the next highest is Kyle Seager with a .303 but no one else after that is over .250

We finished 1st in the division and beat the Cardinals in the WS to win back to back rings.
              Anyway, my 2017 stats:
              .239
              138 ABs
              22 H
              38 R
              15 2Bs
              10 HRs
              31 RBIs

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

2018 stats (bench role, still ):

                131 ABs
                42 H
                .321 AVG (!!!)
                12 HRs (career high)
                32 RBIs (career high)

Felix won his third MVP and 4th Cy Young award. He went 22-4 with a 2.51 ERA, his highest since 2013. He has 282 Ks, which puts him at 3155 for his career! He also has 206 wins, and he's only 31.

Taijuan Walker finished 3rd in CY voting, he went 19-7 with a 2.78 ERA and had 218 Ks

I feel like I deserve a starting spot, but for some reason we trot out Kendrys Morales at 1B everyday. I don't get why he doesn't play DH and I could play 1B, I'm a way better fielder and in 2018 I was a much better hitter. I've never made an error in my career.

Luckily I'm just 25 and will have a chance to eventually become the starting 1B

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

In 2019, my 25 y/o 1B spent the entire year on the bench. Here were his stats.

                  31 G
                  80 AB
                  15 H
                  2 HR
                  13 RBI
                  .187 AVG

This was strange, regressing like this (I put the difficulty up to All-Star)
Anyway, we lost in the ALCS to the A's

2020 season, and we STILL have Kendrys Morales. Poor guy is 36 playing 1B everyday. Hopefully I get more starts this year, as a young 26 y/o who plays incredible defense

Finished 2015 well, batting .298 while hitting 28 HR's and driving in 88 RBI's.. Signed a 3 yr, 3 Mil deal with Miami in the offseason.
Only frustrating part is when I go through slumps and it seems everything is hit right at someone or only goes 2 feet.. But it's realistic I guess so it's whatever

                      Just finished 2020.
My 26 y/o 1B definitely improved from 2019, his stats:
                      38 G
                      129 ABs
                      36 H
                      .279 AVG
                      12 R
                      1 2Bs
                      9 HRs
                      36 RBIs
                      0/5 SB
                      1.000 Fielding %

We missed the playoffs by 2 Games. So now I'm at the start of the 2021 season and I'm entering my prime at 27 y/o. However, I'm still on the bench, as KENDRYS ****ING MORALES IS PLAYING 1B EVERY DAT AT 37 YEARS OLD. WTF.

Oh, we've lost a lot of players, including Felix/Walker/Paxton, and Seager/Miller and tons of other prospects. The only player we still have is Nick Franklin and Robinson Cano. They play SS/2B

Sorry if I'm clogging the boards, lol. I'm a bench player, so I only make about >40 appearances a season, which is less than a quarter of a season.

I haven't had many opportunities to play or update recently, but I've picked up the sticks quite a bit this week so I figured I'd update on my "Captain" Kirk Schaeffer SP career.

The flame throwing right hander pitches in the Twin's organzation and dominated the AA ranks with his blistering RFB, his electric slider and his devastating change up. "Captain" went 9-0 In 11 AA starts posting a 0.85 era and racking up 110 strikeouts in just 76 innings using dynamic difficulty.

In a surprising move the struggling Twins called the 18yo right hander straight to the majors from AA in the last week of May. I was a little worried the currently 72 overall phenom would be outmatched in the majors. However "Captain" made his first MLB start against the SD Padres and came a strike away from pitching a complete game shutout in his first career start before allowing a solo home run when he hung a slider on an 0-2 count.

The final line from Captain Kirk Schaeffer's MLB debut: 8.2 IP 6H 2BB 6K. Next up for the stud right hander are the Texas Rangers.

How long does it take typically for a starting pitcher to get called up to MLB? I'm a starting pitcher that got drafted by the Diamondbacks. I'm performing pretty well in AAA, I'm a 78 overall, and it's August 2015. I haven't been called up yet.
