I was actually able to buy a copy of Kinect Sports Rivals a week before release via Target. Girl took it out of the case and I checked out through self-serve without any issues.

This was in Canada so I wonder if they haven't put a release date block in their system yet.

Write down a sku from one of the other ps4 games that has been released, say NBA2k14, and bring it to the register with The Show. Tell the clerk that "they" said to use this sku if the one on the box won't scan for them.

IF I buy the game from the US PSN store (im based in England btw) im assuming that the game is locked to a US midnight unlock? Even though for example I believe im 5 hours ahead of East Coast time?

However if the game comes on the EU store (which im hoping), then do EU players get the game unlocked based on the EU timezone GMT or GMT+1 and thus get the game a little bit before our friends across the Atlantic?

tbh I think ill be buying via a US account anyway as the conversion rate will save me a fair few quid, but still interesting to see how it all plays out... whether the midnight is locked to 1 timezone or just depends on where you live.

There's a reason release dates are there. At midnight on that date, the game is ok for the public to purchase. The game SHOULD go on the EU PS store, when it does, whatever the release date is for EU (should be May 6th as well), is when it'll be unlocked. So when it hits midnight May 6th in Europe, (7/8 PM US east coast), then it should be unlocked for Europe. Street dates are in place for a reason yes, but most devs usually dont fret over a matter of HOURS if that's the case.

Unfortunately I dont think that's the case. When it hits midnight in AZ is when it'll be unlocked. I THINK.... even tho the US PS store is the whole US region, I still think it's also by time zone....

That's a big maybe. When Infamous was released, it was available to play at midnight eastern time, so for people on the west coast it was 9pm, mountain time it was 10pm, etc.

Not for me it wasn't. I'm in Arizona, no daylight savings, so 9 here is 12 in NY but I couldn't download until a few minutes past midnight my time. I was just hoping the Show was different..
