    1. How noticeable are the new animations? My biggest issue with the PS3 games is that the game has basically looked the same for the last five years. Seeing the same ten or so fielding animations, catch animations, swing animations, and running animations has really tampered with my enjoyment of the game. After all this talk from SCEA about how they had been limited by the space left on the PS3 versions of the game, I thought that may have been the reason for a lack of upgrades in this department. Do the animations they added make a real difference?

    2. When a player catches the ball, does the glove clasp around it or does it remain wide open with the ball inside?

    3. Where would you rank the this version of the game, in terms of looks, with other next generation sports titles?

    4. Does the game feel like a noticeably different experience than MLB '13?

Thanks in advance for any answers, really appreciate your guys time!

I did put it into the impressions thread, I'm softening on Load times. When you first fire up the game they're bad. First game in takes awhile to load, but after that you see a huge difference. Messing around in RTTS, the turn around on load times after the initial game loaded was 15-20 seconds. I apologize profusely for leading people astray. I only really had time in the last two days to play once or twice a night and the loads were long then, especially after exiting to edit a clip and starting up again. Once you're in and have a few games done into your session, the loads improve dramatically.

    Other questions:

    1) This is a tough call. You see it in the crowds obviously. The players look better and there are a few different looking animations, but on the whole I'd say its not a massive upgrade. There are some tricks I haven't seen before, but you're still going to see a lot of the old animations you've seen for the last few years.

    2) Sorry not sure...you should be able to see it in the videos posted though

    3) I'd say its on par with FIFA and NBA 2K. The crowds and players look great, no complaints. Is the gap as wide as it was with the PS3 and other sports games? My personal opinion is no.

    4) The game feels like The Show. It's an annual upgrade with some nice new graphics. It plays at a good speed so I'm enjoying it more than I did 13 for that.

Thats great to hear on load times bc if they were like the IGN video load times that would have been unbearable ..The Photos of intros look Awesome im glad they are in makes the start up of each game feel little more immersive .

Oh yeah! The first time you load up a game after starting a new session the load time is BAD so I'm quite thrilled that I was wrong because even going beyond The Show, if Sony was struggling to keep loads in check, what did that mean for other developers?

        Very happy now.

          Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)

My two cents regarding popular subjects.

Fly ins -- This is why developers are always hesitant to say anything and never give straight answers. Yes, they said it would be in. Yes, it appears as if it is not.

Some posters being disappointed -- It is funny to me that back in the discussion/preview threads many posters were reacting hostile to those saying they were not impressed when everyone else was throwing money at their screen. Now the consensus seems to be "somewhat disappointed, but still buying.

The night games -- The lighting is horrible. Do baseball teams have blackout Tuesday promotions?

My question -- Developers mentioned "X new animations," From your limited time playing, how would you say the breakdown is between players and fans? That fan dancing clip, there is 4 new animations alone. But it would suck if it was almost all fans.

Also, slap swings -- How are they? More specifically, how does the ball behave coming off the bat? Can anyone post a video of some good ol fashion slap stick? (Or point me to one if such already exists)

Another request -- beauty shots of Camden Yards for fapping material.

I'd also be interested in hearing about hit variety.

This was in MLB 13 for PS3, so yes they will close the glove now. You can also see it in most of the videos posted.

Hasn't it been known from the beginning that the PS4 version would just be a graphical enhancement with minor additions elsewhere? That's exactly what I have expected, and it looks like they came through on that.

What?! Nice blanket statement you made there, considering that so far it is only ONE stadium that is not lit up at night. But sure, go take a jab at the game because of it.

Hey can one of you guys test a night game at PNC Park? Just curious to see if any of the buildings are lit up in the city scape - thanks!

A picture would be great if you could as well!

Didn't the OP say NO request keep the questions coming and hopefully the people with the game can answer them.

Oh come on don't be so sensitive. If the one stadium looked awesome I am sure you would not take issue with me making a blanket statement of how awesome the game looked. But fine, I'll rephrase the question, does St. Louis have blackout Tuesday promotions?

and I am not apologizing for the Camden Yards thing. The stadium is beautiful.

That's what I expected for the first one on the Next gen systems. MLB 15 though I think we will see a big improvement.
