Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
I use auto field positioning and on a number of occasions it seems when the ai changes the field it doesn't reset, i have had 1b protecting the bag with no one on, the field shifted right after the batter it was set for was out.
One game i had 3 balls drop between my fielders and the wall. at first i thought it was great as i hadn't seen it happen to often, after the 3rd time i checked my field and the outfield was all the way in.
Has anyone else had any problems , is it a known issue or it could be correct as i don't know the finer details of the game, setting the field ect.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
That is cool that your player can be called on as a pinch hitter. But does the manager (or the opposing manager) ever call a pinch hitter when you're already in the lineup? Maybe pinch hitting is a lesser used tactic in the minors; I still haven't made it to the bigs, but haven't seen any team pinch hit yet.
Another thing you may find useful is that there is a Game Log option I believe that gives you a transcript of each at bat in the game. Maybe there is stuff put in there about what you are looking for.
On a related note, on a day off my guy got called in as a pitch *runner* which was the first I had seen that. Pretty cool.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
i think i have been having this same issue as well and i just realized it last night. ive had several plays that my fielders should have made easily and they didnt because the outfield was shifted all the way to the right, for no reason... i started thinking something was up but couldnt pin point it. i dont care about playing with shifts, id rather my players just stay in normal position... this makes me think i should just set my field positioning to manual so they just stay put instead of this auto shifting if its going to result in something like this... have you changed your settings yet? if so, is it still doing this to you??
Maybe a few people who understand the tactics and field settings can keep an eye on it and see if the field positions are incorrect after certain plays.
All i know is that i have players protecting bases with no one on and set for DP when there's no chance of a DP.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Hey guys, how do these rtts leaderboards work? What exactly makes you move up in rankings. I went from 592 to 469, but have no clue what determines that.1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Is it possible to have auto fielding and baserunning in RTTS?
Is there a way too change the fielding view when playing outfield? I get all turned around when the ball is driving up over my head, the default view is awkward for me.
How do I pick up the ball off the ground? I had a gapper hit near me and when I chased it down, I couldn't pick it up!
Thanks guys.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
A few more questions, where is the option to put fielding chances to none?
Also, is there different base running options?
I want to use base running from the show 2 years ago.

Yes, now as you might know, I'm visually impaired, so I'll do my best to help you here. If you look under user settings, where gameplay options, audio/video, and presentation are, you'll see mode specific, hit that, and you'll find all rtts options.1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! If I want to edit player ratings, is there some kind of formula used? How are ratings determined?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Was looking thru some pre launch videos and saw this HR camera shot, Is this in the game. I like how it stays in that view for awhile and haven't seen that angle before. Is it only on certain camera settings.

How to Player lock?
Man I spent a full hour tonight trying to figure out how to turn on player lock in an Exhibition game. So frustrating and still haven't figured it out.
Someone told me to press R2 on the player line up. And I see in the botton right corner of the screen in the rotating instructions that R2 is to enable/disable player lock. But pushing R2 does nothing. Just to be clear for R2 I am pushing the fat trigger on the right side (the one that a racing game would usually use as the accelerator).
Here's exactly what I'm doing... I'm starting an Exhibition game, selecting my side and team, moving the highlight bar down to the player I want to lock, and then press R2. Nothing happens! I can press it, press and hold, whatever - it seems to have no effect.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
EDIT: I figured out what the problem was... I was trying to do this in a two player game and its not supported.Last edited by 2kguy; 05-20-2014, 12:19 AM.Comment

At the pitcher select or lineup screen....highlight the player you want....hit R2(yes...the accelerator button)....you will see the target icon assigned next to the player name...you are now locked for the game.
If you pick a pitcher....and then relieve him in game...hit L2 to take control of the RP(if you bring in a reliever)

Haha...are you expecting an explosion or something?!

Anyway - once I am in a game with player lock on, is there a way to remove it? Or likewise if I'm in a game without it, is there a way to add it? If so, how?
The only way I can see to bring up a line up when in game is to press the mouse pad. It shows the line up but no players are selectable to hit R2 on. Thanks again.Comment
