I think you posted in the wrong thread. This is a discussion about the Sounds of The Show feature on PS4 (or lack there of). Otherwise this is the oddest follow-up to my post above that I could imagine.

As far as I can tell Classic stadiums (which hopefully will return in 15) and SOTS are the only features missing from the PS4 edition. And I blame SOTS on Sony for their handling of MP3 playback.

Exactly, some people blame San Diego Studios but until Sony implements mp3 playback where we can use a usb drive to transfer music to PS4 you will not see SOTS.

Rumor around the inter-webs is that the PS4 is going to receive a "major" firmware update on or around March 29 (article here: http://tinyurl.com/p5vawey). No details as to what functionality might be added yet, but does this mean there's still a shred of hope for SoTS on PS4 in MLB 15?!? It's probably just wishful thinking this close to release date but I refuse to give up hope yet (please don't force me to play on PS3 yet again this year Sony, I'm begging you).

I vaguely recall that when this issue was discussed last year, something like that the SoTS framework is already in the PS4 version and theoretically will work once the PS4 media functionality returns to the current decade. Not sure if any of this is based in reality, but I have faith it can still happen. We've put Rovers on Mars for goodness sakes, this old school SoTS stuff has to be within our grasp .

We discussed this just one page back in this thread. The details for that firmware update are pretty much known. Sony will be implementing another music streaming service that is in conjunction with Spotify. Nothing has been said about MP3's being saved to the console's HDD. In fact this update likely means that we won't get that feature for a very long time because this is just another service that Sony wants to force on people for $$$.

Oops my bad, I don't know how I missed that discussion but at least that explains some of the bazaar follow-up posts. I know nobody cares but I find this whole thing so revolting and for the first time in nearly a decade I'm seriously considering passing on MLB 15 entirely. It's all very stale at this point and I never expected the PS4 version to be inferior to PS3. I suppose that the fist year on a new platform gets a pass, but in year two it's just inexcusable no matter who's fault it is. A fail is fail is a fail. If ever a game franchise was in desperate need of some formidable competition it's this one.

If a dev could answer this it'd be great, but I'm curious as to if MLB 15 would be able to support sounds of the show in the event that the latest rumored firmware upgrade to the PS4 allows Mp3 support. Such as an update or something. Would be nice.

Someone may have touched on this earlier, but would there be any way to patch in SoTS support with USB drives? I could certainly fit all the tunes I would need and then some on a flash drive, would it be that much more difficult to pull the imported tunes from an external flash rather than the internal HDD? I'm genuinely curious as to why that wouldn't work (I don't have much of a background as a programmer, but always happy to learn something new).

Actually, it looked to me like the feature was in the game in the 2014 PS4 version of the show. But due to Sony's disrespect for its consumers they have not patched in the ability to rip music files to the internal HDD.....yet. So I'm hoping the 2015 version of the game still has the feature in the game, it's just useless because you can't copy audio files to your HD.

I did see a link where some big wig at Sony was talking about how they will be including this feature in a future firmware update. Didn't get in 2.00 because they were in a hurry just to implement use for the USB ports.

So if the feature is in game, it would work if a Firmare update comes out soon that allows music files to be copied.

I find it very insulting that my PS4 doesn't have the capabilities of my PS3. It's a real slap in the face. It makes me glad there is no NCAA Football game because I would not be able to play that game without custom stadium sounds.

Sony is ditching Music Unlimited for Spotify, which I have. I wish at the the very least, that Sony would allow you to download songs from te new spotify sponsored music app to your hd. That way, you could use those for your own walk up music at least. Spotify does allow you to download music. Prob won't happen for the ps4 just yet. This still won't solve the problem of importing custom team and player specific tunes, or editing tunes for each player in the game.

It really kills me that Sony makes both the console and the MLB game. So they should know how big a deal Sounds of the Show are.

Another year. Another let down. Only reason I'm buying the show this year is because of year to year saves and new licensed equipment FINALLY.

But I will not continue to buy if Sounds of the Show is not added by next year. I don't waste my money on Madden anymore as other have always refused to add features that people want. The show will be next at this rate. Sony needs to step it up with this new console.

It was last year that Sony updated the PS4's firmware to allow it to play your mp3s, and it did it in a really round-a-bout way that I speculate is not compatible with how The Show already did it. You have to insert a USB stick with a folder named music. The music player only pops up when you have it inserted.

I'm guessing that The Show expected the mp3s to be on the hard drive, and when it wasn't, they just had to disable the ability to use custom tracks and then figure out how to use the PS4's crappy music player.

Again, I'm assuming, but it's a matter of resources now. Sony created more work for San Diego Studios and it's just a matter of priorities. I'm sure San Diego Studio cares about the feature a lot and feels bad they cannot provide it right now.

Has anyone tried having their usb stick with music inserted whilst playing the game and going to sots?

There is no option to try and import anything this year. But just wanting to make sure it doesn't somehow recognize the files automatically. I'm 99.9% sure that it doesn't, just trying to cover all the bases here.

I don't have music on usb or I would try it myself.

Bought a PS4 last year solely for The Show and it was exactly the same as the PS3 version. Well, player's eyes and hair looked cooler if you paused the game and did a closeup. So I sold my PS4 and am gonna buy the PS3 version. Can't wait for Sounds of the Show again! I already have like 50 songs saved and ready to go!

Yeah if you've seen some of the SOTS community on OS, they can be very passionate about the feature and I get it.
